Thanks to all for your positive feed back. Very greatly appreciated!!!!
Hi, I just did a test run on Costco in my Costco on line account. I shoot in RAW. When I convert to JPEG I do it in 8x10's and put an M at the end of the cropped pic number. Save the original in its original size. When I sent a verticle and horizontal 8x10 to Costco, ALL sizes Costco lists, up to 11x14, except the 8x10, required cropping. So, decide what size you want from Costco, crop it from your saved original and you're good to go. Just remember to save the original in the size it comes from your camera. I use Elements 9.
Good Luck
Went eagle hunting this afternoon near home base. Found these two playing around with eachother while their chick kept the nest warm.
Ed, Appreciate your informative reply. I shoot with Sigma SD14 and various Sigma telefoto lens and find AF takes soooo long when shooting birds.

Jealousy and Envy are running wild in my system!!! Can't wait to see the Osprey on your web site, and of course more pics here. Were you using auto or manual focus?
In the beginning I was casting against the bank and there was NO bear. Suddenly he appeared...about 75 feet way. GULP!!! After the longest 30seconds in the world, I backed off to an island where I had my camera. l Swapped my flyrod for my tripod went half way back to where I'd been. This guy posed for about 10 minutes. This occured in Alaska.
Thanks to all of you for your positive feedback!!!
I hear you on that one, although in Alaska I've been forced into the river by mama griz and family and gotten some good shots of them. I use a wadding staff to help prevent falls. As it's said, "thy rod and thy staff will comfort thee".
If you want to walk very far from the main roads, make certain you have some bear spray. If you see car jams, they are really animal jams. Want wild life, check out the Lamar Valley although WL is all over the park. In the Tetons, check out Schwabacher Landing, sp???, . It's about 3-5 miles on the "main" highway North of Moose Junction. Keep the Snake River on your left while heading north.
Have fun!!!!
Actually, this one is coming in for a landing, but most everyone thinks he/she is dancing....
I moved to Montana from Seattle so I could fish, but with all the wild ( four legged type) life and bird life around here it's hard to find time to fish. Hope I can find some pics worth, imho, posting.
Ciao, Robin
Glad to learn I'm not the only one having trouble giving the birds directions thru "bird speak". They are so bloody independent!!!!
ciao,
Robin
Getting a good focus on a bird flying right at you is a real challenge. I've had some luck by prefocusing on a location/point with auto focus, then switching to manual focus so I can shoot fast. Find your bird, track it until it reaches the prefocused spot, then open fire. Wing tip blur is fine. A Sharp subject eye makes the pic, imho. I'm using a Sigma SD14 and their 120-300 f/2.8 telefoto with 1.4 or 2X extenders or their 300-800mm f5.6 telefoto. I'm a new member & this is my first post. Robin Poole
