I'm in the market for a new camera and decided on the d7200. I understand that it is hard to pick the best time with the best prices.. I also know there are some very good deals to be had around Christmas So my question is, are there any other times in the year when prices on cameras and photo equipment traditionally drop down a bit. If need be I could wait for the Christmas deals but I would like to pull the trigger sooner rather then later. That is if there are also deals available sooner in the year. This is a significant sum of money for me to lay out and I'm looking to save as much as I can so that I have some left to spend on other things like lenses. Any info on this will be appreciated very much.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking out here for a while and finally got the nerve to pop in to show myself. I would like to say that I feel grateful and very humbled to be accepted into your group. My name is Rick. I just recently got back into photography after a long hiatus lasting nearly forty years. Needless to say I have forgotten anything useful that I might have ever known about photography. Which brings me to the selfish reason that I asked to take part in this forum. Put quite simply I need your help. I consider myself much below the rank of beginner but I've already learned so much from you all and I thank you for that and look forward to learning more. Who knows, if I pay careful attention I may even learn enough to perhaps help someone else in the distant future

Yes, that is what I was told when I bought the camera, it was my first "real" camera before that it was just Brownie instamatic or some such That camera is what sparked my interest in photography and I did turn out some fairly decent photos in my opinion. Alas.then along came marriage and children etc and the camera went on a shelf to be forgotten until I saw that question But I digress, I'm sorry for that , I will go to the proper section to introduce myself and tell about myself and why I'm here Thank you for your patience.
