Here is a short video showing how close the elk are in Estes Park. https://www.facebook.com/topic/Estes-Park-Colorado/108555692503149?source=whfrt&position=3&trqid=6201431828427219818

RMNP is one place you can enjoy spectacular mountain views from your car. Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous auto road in the country, well over 12,000 ft in elevation at the top, going from Estes Park to Grand Lake. It might possible be closed due to snow by the time you get there, but if you are approaching from the Estes Park side there will still be plenty to see.
Wild Basin, in the South end of the Park, has some short hikes, lakes, and streams. It is South of Longs Peak, which is spectacular.
The Fall River Pass road is beautiful, and has just reopened to traffic. It, too, can be closed due to snow at the top.
Any of the roads in the Park provide an opportunity to pull over and take a hike. At some places you have to stay on established trails. You will get a map at the entrance station.
This time of year is mating season for the elk. There are places where you can observe, and hear, elk bugling, maybe watch bull elk battling.
Estes Park is a treat.
Just to the East is the city of Loveland, which has the most spectacular sculpture park. Benson Park has dozens of sculptures, providing lots of chances for picture taking, and it is free.
This part of Colorado is within a couple of hours of Denver.

Agreed, a mouse is good, and eliminates the touchpad problem. However, I often use my laptop on my lap (imagine that!), and don't have a surface nearby to roll the mouse on. So I just put up with the inadvertent zoom.

When I am using my Chrome browser on my laptop, with my fingers on the keyboard, sometimes my left hand hovers too close to the touchpad, and the screen zooms. I then get a little icon on the url window, at the right side, where I can click and make the screen return to normal.

This is a very scary article. It outlines the dangers involved with energy production. We should all understand this.

Rick, you actually had faith in the internet? 8-)

I read on the internet that Abraham Lincoln said you could trust anything you found there.
And I trust Honest Abe!!

It is a different world. It's not about questioning rules, but about whether we are willing to relinquish our freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, fourth amendment rights, and other rights guaranteed by the Constitution to the police. Those rights were put there to protect citizens from an overreaching government and its agents. Sometimes it seems that people believe only the second amendment exists.
There is no exclusive province for those with "photographer's press cards" to take pictures of things happening in public places.
Individuals have a right of privacy, subject to some exceptions, which might be violated by photographing and publishing their pictures, even those taken in a public place. The police have no such right of privacy while they are doing their jobs.

Well Bob, I clicked your link and my security software gave me a warning that you have a malicious website. So, how do I trust that???

It may be a problem with your security software. Mine thinks it's ok.

Well said comrade.

That's EXACTLY why he should. Because we live in a country that presumes innocence and then requires proof of guilt.

The logic about not doing things because someone may disapprove never made sense to me.

How about the first amendment? Ring any bells? The right to a free press shall not be abridged? Free speech?

Every time we shrink away, the line moves farther towards not having those rights.

Amen to that! Too many (actually, any are too many) have "paid a price," to use a term appearing in another post, for overreaching by the police. "Appearing suspicious" should not result in intimidation, much less death.

Oops! I meant lenses for Canon. One is Canon fd 50mm 1:1.8, the other Spiratone 1:8 f=500 mirror lens. Also have Spiratone Plura-coat 2x tele-verter.
