Hi elmertd
I agree with the reviewers before me the image is technically great(It's sharp, well focused and The PP looks great).
I would have used the comment section in this forum, I see the when and where, but not necessarily the why and how you took the Photo.

Hi Nikonian - That picture looks like you cheated! Did you pluck out the forward leaning seeds on that dandelion seed head or just happen to find one just like that?
:-D :-D
Only kidding great image either way :D

Hi Norman
I am a "newby" at this digital camera too!

Welcome to the group! I too have upgraded to a Nikon D3300 after a long ago 35mm film SLR camera which took what I thought were good pictures. I have been making Incremental steps. A 35mm film Nikon One Touch. A digital point and shoot.(Visioneer MX 200 8mm f2.8 2MP(Don't laugh)). A Digital Fuji Point and shoot 4 MP. Now I have something compared to the old stuff that shoots Phenomenal Pictures.

Compared to what a lot of the regulars around here shoot this is old news. I am really happy with my new camera and I am exploring the techniques that some of the more experienced photographers are using to get pictures that are out of the norm.

I recently displayed some vacation shots on a 55" HD TV. I was blown away by the picture quality(that's 30"X 50" approximately). I am now learning to crop my images for even better picture composition(with out a loss of image quality)and far better than the 11x14" 35mm film enlargements that I produced years ago.

It seems you put the good cameras of today in anybody hands and they can produce great "Snapshots".

Photography is still an art and the artist with the best eye and imagination will capture images that the best equipment alone won't capture.

That being said I want more and better equipment, too.

You are confusing purchasing a mass produced item with purchasing a tailor made suit.

When you select a camera you select for what you need, nothing else. The rest is BS.

I shoot manual, I shoot raw I print large.

Result?
raw is an option? Check.
Custom WB? Check.
Full manual? Check.
Mega pixel? Check.
Dynamic range? Check.

Everything else from focusing to video is junk. I do not give a rat ass about it. That is why I consider the Nikon D810 as a minor upgrade to the D800e. By minor I mean, REALLY minor.

As a buyer, instead of complaining about too many options, check that the ones you need are present (and easily selectable).
You are confusing purchasing a mass produced item ... (show quote)

For me money is the deciding issue. If say 2 items have the same feature set and produce the same results. The lowest price will always win. I drive a Acura TL would like a Porsche but would never buy one(Might be a bucket list Item) :D :-D.
I own a Nikon D3300 18-55VRII, 55-300VRII and I would love to own a D800e, but I am putting my money in better lenses.
