Rutherfordton is between Charlotte & Asheville. Keep shootin'
Fabulous! Didn't you feel like it had plans for you?
Great shot! Where in NC are you? I'm near Rutherfordton.
Didn't one of those wash up on a shore somewhere yesterday? They're still trying to figure out what creature's eye it was and how he lost it.
You can go to the zoo for the indoor exhibits, any kind of nature center, or possibly a pet store. Also consider the mall for interesting shots of people.
I have a suggestion for you: Keep doing these! That is absolutely priceless even with the top of his head chopped off!
All excelent advice. Everyone is so helpful here, that's what I love about it. The thing I was getting at is: you give your photo to a painter. No harm in that, but what if she gives it to her sister when she's done with the painting, who's best friend just loves it, and she says "You take it, I'm going to hang something else there". Then the friend makes copies and spreads them around the office. Next thing you know it appears in some magazine without your name. Or on the web photoshopped with a bullet hole in it's head. Or for sale in a shop. You just never know. Of course this is all illeagle, but people do illeagle stuff every day, sometimes unwittingly.
Hi UHHs, I'm a newbie to both forum and dslr photography. Have been looking for quite a while but never posted. I jumped in because I have been struggling with this subj. myself. I recently sold a photo to a fellow car club wife who wants a photo of her husband's car. That suddenly opened a can of worms for me. I would probably be asked to take it at her home, so must charge for that. If I do her a favor and don't charge others in the club like my work and will want theirs done. Then she asked me to email photos I have that may work for her kitchen. What's to stop her from blowing them up and framing? If you give your work away to anyone, you are opening yourself up for being copied and distributed without your ok. If someone paints your photo and it becomes a huge hit, everyone buying the painting your photo will begin to look like a copy of her painting. I've done too much thinking about this, but there are also so many scams around and we have to be careful about everything now.
Just my thoughts for what little it's worth.
