Thank you for the comments and information.
First time out to the beach since back surgery in June. Wanted to work on BIF skills
That is what these did. I sat in one spot for about an hour and just watched them.

Good Job
Remember Dragonflies usually land in the same position,in the same place - move your position and pre focus - you can also (sometimes) get them to stay long enough to stack focus.
Thanks for the comments. Sorry I got the replies in the wrong place. Have a great day.
It was a partly sunny day. When I shot this one it was cloudy so I had to up some of the settings:
ISO 2000
420mm
F 7.1
I/1250

Good stuff, really like #2. I like the folage coloring OF. For me I would crop the right side tighter.

Good job! I found them to be more difficult to photo than humming birds but you did very well. What is your lens?
I was using a Canon 300 f4 with the 1.4 III extender.

This turned out to be a lot of fun.
Has anyone tried Mosaic View for viewing your images in Lightroom 5? Thanks for your comments
Sorry for all of the post about my bird feeder. Had back surgery 5 weeks ago and can not get out much. These were taken just as a rain storm started to let up. The birds could not wait to get back to the feeder.
Female House Finch
Male Northern Cardinal
Grackle
Male House Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Thanks for all of the comments
Sunflower seed and mixed bird seed. Maybe it was the full moon.
Seems like the last few days the birds at my bird feeder have been getting very ill with each other. Attached are some pics of their stand-offs.
These two would fight and then set back and rest
Picture says it all
I did not see House Finches fight much but these two females were not happy
I believe the Cardinal got his point across
This Dove would puff out his feathers to try and look bigger

Is that a male or female?
This is a male. With the Eastern Carpenter Bee the males have a white spot on their face and the females are all black
