Agree. I do have a smartphone, but it's very cumbersome doesn't bring in the subject very well. :(

Thank you everyone for your input. I'm leaning toward Canon and as someone suggested, X50 or X60. Also, though along came the P900 which I've researched as well. Now I failed to mention that I have a Cadillac taste on a Volkswagen budget.

I know most every here has read it, heard it over and over again but I need to inquire.

I am a photography enthusiast. I enjoy people, places and things and to photograph all that.
I'm also one of those who if I see something and I think it needs a pic, I will suddenly stop and shoot. (with camera)
I'm between a P&S or DSLR. I'm not one for bells and whistles but I always want to learn new things. Point being, if I buy a camera with new things on it, I'm willing to learn. BUT preference is point and shoot.

Can someone suggest a good camera for outdoor shooting mostly, nature and people. I had a Nikon 5700 point and shoot, but the sensor went on that.

I'm new here at this forum and I'm an enthusiast for photography. I dabble in taking pictures here and there for many years. I had a Minolta 202 that I enjoyed for many years taking just general pictures. Nature, people and landscaping. Thought I'd drop in to see what was happening.
