one of my favorite birds1. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy your winter in the Tucson area. It's been cold down here, by local standards, but hopefully it won't last too long. Lots to do and some great places to wander with your camera. I'm a neighbor, living in Tubac.
Looks like you have been doing some photography in Arizona!
Wow, lucky you to get to see it. Thanks for sharing!
Just one, I want to see more!
I am all for portability, but with horsepower. My suggestion would be the MacBook Pro with as much ram as you can afford and if you have to pinch, hold back on the storage. Portable storage is really affordable these days. Love my M2 chip and 16" MacBook with 64GB of ram.
Beautiful hawk showing off what a hawk is. Sharp, well processed, nice background. A great example of a wonderful photo.

That's assuming the lighting is the same over the entire rink.
i guess my point was that if you are shooting from the same vantage point, the light is not going to change, so from my perspective, there would be no need to change exposure and thus not a need for auto iso, it would do nothing for you. if the photographer is moving around the arena, the you might need to adjust your exposure, but you should have plenty of time to do that. i just donβt see the big advantage of using auto exposure. if someone would like to provide an explaination of the advantage, i would be happy to learn.
Just curious, what changing lighting conditions at the ice rink will require a change in exposure? I can't think of any. So why "auto" anything?
