Don't get me wrong, I love the music the Stones, now and since Satisfaction. Wife and I went to see Peter Frampton and after a couple of opening songs said, "We have 3 hours of music..." I was in a wheel chair after a motorcycle accident and she was going to roll me back to the hotel half a mile away, so we left after an hour. I am not in a chair now, but at 71 going to a concert is not on the top of my list of things I enjoy anymore.
If Jerry was still around I'd stand in line, but he isn't and I don't. I'll still go to see Hot Tuna, and a few others But the average age of stars I'm familiar with is somewhere north of eighty. There are still a few stars left from my time. There are some amazing blue grass players. Chris Thile comes to mind. You name it in any genre and he can do it amazingly on a mandoline, but I think he's only twelve.
