Congrats on your new camera! Since you shot film back in the day, as I have also done, you will find the manual focus on the 5500 easy to use.
Personally, I would forget the book, go on youtube and click on a dozen or so videos on Nikon D5500's. Also, just scroll through the menus and see what is offered. You will get more out of that then reading a book. I have shot Nikon for years, but just purchased a Canon 1DX and did just what I am suggesting to you. Also go on kenrockwell.com Click on Nikon and scroll down and find your D5500. I know some disagree with some of Ken's statements, but read between the lines and enjoy his information.
Above all else, take lots of photos and enjoy the camera!
Scott, received the lens today! Great lens and just as you stated, not a mark on it. Looking forward to really trying it out this weekend. Got the camera today as well, so going through the settings. I will post feedback as well,
Regards, Joe
Tweaked some minor adjustments!
Thanks, they could stand some tweaking in Lightroom.
A few of my granddaughter at an event. Indoors and horrible lighting. Thought I would share.
They also don't like you shooting in the lane, but those are the keepers in my opinion.
Outstanding photos! Great capture of expressions!
Very nice job! You did a great job with indoor lighting.
Good luck with your sale, as that is a great price on a low actuation D4. If I did not already pull the plug on the Canon 1Dx, I would get this. I know what I got when I sold mine in December. I have no problems with either manufacture, as the bottom line on how your photos turn out is YOU!

Oh but they absolutely do, but they are almost always clearly marked "import" in the listing. This current price is the Nikon Mothers Day promo deal. Full USA warranty included.
MT hits it on the head. Adorama, B&H, etc. they all sell import (grey market) products. However, they are clearly marked. When the price is too good to be true, it most likely is.
Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. ; you can't go wrong with any of these. Learn the camera, shoot in manual and become a better photographer in the end.
Thank you Scott! Looking forward to receiving the lens. Will be posting some photos soon with my new 1DX and 70-200 f2.8.

Hello: br br For Sale: Camera bag, it is in new c... (
show quote)
Yes Ed, the Tamrac bag that I offered $90 for. I just can't do anymore! I know the beating I took on my Domke F2 bag. Purchased it a B&H for $180, it was clean as a pin when I sold it and got $75 and it cost me $20 to ship. This bag was a top of the line and could carry 2 dslr's, which I did and 4 lenses among other items.
I understand if you can't accept that offer, as there will be no hard feelings from me.
Regards, Joe
