Nice.
Looks a lot like Pittsburgh with the exception of the modern bridge on the left.

Affinity has actually sold out to Canva and I'm predicting that they will introduce a subscription model in the future.

Just yesterday after reading Jerry's post a YouTuber I follow posted about the same thing.

Historically, this type of thing doesn't go well. Think of SketchUp, the 3d CAD program or NIK. If/When they go subscription they will lose a lot of business I think, at least they will lose mine. I personally will likely go back to PS because I think Affinity is a very close clone of PS yet still not in first place. If I'm going to pay rent (may go to GIMP) I might as well pay for the first place app.

Not being a professional, $120/year for PS is not a good deal. I just went 6 months w/o using an editor at all, and paying rent all that time would irk me a bit. I left PS precisely because of their marketing scheme and the fact Affinity was almost a clone of PS w/o the rental nonsense. Actually I was always irked by PS marketing/pricing being designed for the professional. Affinity perfectly fit the amateur/non-professionals needs both in function and pricing. I figure that is about to change.

I wonder what this will mean for Affinity as it joins the Canva group. Hopefully, the move will not have a negative effect on the popular processing program. I haven't used Affinity in a while, but it is a good program.

The last versions have started giving me trouble. I can't correctly load NEF files for example and I've been getting some strange behavior in other areas, like masks and such. Hard to nail down the problems as each time I get a Win10 update, my system gets a little more strange. Add to that my mental acuity ain't what it used to be, so there's that. Is it Win10, Affinity, my PC, my self? I suspect it's NOT Affinity as I've heard no rumblings in the ether about it. I've been very suspicious of win upgrades for many many years, and they always seem to cause problems after a new version of Win is released.

Not sure about Canva Groups. Never participated and have not a clue how it's implemented or how it could have a negative affect on Affinity?

Nice. There are so many good versions of that.

This is my favorite - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_DKWlrA24k

I loved that one when I first heard it. Strangely, over the years it grew a bit tiresome to me and I never listen to it anymore. Some songs grow old to me and others seem to never lose there shine.

Wow Big Daddy, thanks for this. How is it that I have never heard him sing “Over the Rainbow”. I saw him in concert many years ago but I don’t remembers him singing that. It is now one of my favorite songs from him. Thanks again for sharing. Phil

I never was a big fan of Jerry Lee Lewis until I heard the above two songs. Over the Rainbow was a surprise to me as well, and it's my favorite version as well. Actually Over the Rainbow is not a song I ever particularly liked no matter who did it until I heard this version. Breathless was a strange movie I watched on late night TV years ago. I liked the song and noted it.

"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."

“Let a problem last for too long, and people begin to believe it's not a problem.”

In which case "they" (Hand wringers/alarmists) will create a new problem. Ergo, global warming/global cooling/climate change. Overpopulation/underpopulation/world famine . Acid rain/Ozone Holes. The lists of "problems" is long and endless. None of them have come true which should give the hand wringers a hint that they are out to lunch.

True, the internet and media is packed with the garbage but if your scroll past page 100/200 you will start to find a few real scientists and educators that manage to get past the censorship imposed by those making fortunes off the disinformation.

If that doesn't work for you, at least take note that those telling you how to live to save the planet do exactly the opposite themselves. Drive electric cars or take a bus while they fly around in private jets. Don't eat meat to save the cow farts, while they eat Wagyu Porterhouse. Eat veggies while they dine on Blue Fin Tuna. The hyperbole and hypocrisy of this gang of thieves is blatantly obvious.

A thousand years ago, humans and their domesticated animals made up 2% of the mammal biomass on earth. Now, it is 90%. (source: The Human Age by Diane Ackerman)

Economist think populations need to grow; I (and Diane Ackerman) think there are more people on this planet than this planet can support.

I don't know Diane Akerman but I see she is a poet. I prefer to listen to what real scientist like Dr. Richard Lindzen, Dr. Steven Koonan etc have to say about this crap than a fake scientists like Bill Nye the Science Guy or some Poet Population expert.

On that note, it makes sense that their is an upper limit to world population. I think it's impossible to get there because there is a natural control on population size in all forms of life.

Humans however, and unlike all other forms of life have amazing abilities to adapt to things. For example, India not that long ago had like 200 million people and famine was common across their land. Today they have over 1.3 BILLION people and they are food EXPORTERS. In addition, world food production has been increasing steadily and the world is living better because of it, and despite rapid population growth.

So, we have a ways to go before getting our panties in a bunch over if/when Malthusian predictions of population collapse might occur.

Ignorance, especially the wilfull type, is the biggest danger. Knowledge about these subjects is constantly improving, sometimes voiding what we thought we knew, and being 78 is no excuse for not trying to keep up.

What am I not keeping up with, the global warming, global cooling, acid rain, ozone holes, population overload, population underload, climate change, Sea water flooding Florida, 3 micron masks saving you from 10 nanometer virus? All this crap is contained in the Kool aide you've been drinking. If you had been keeping up yourself you'd know that none of the hand wringers predictions have panned out of the last 50+ years. Ignoring what's actually happening, and what real scientists are saying is where the real ignorance lies.

I suggest buying a large roll of Aluminum foil and wrapping your head in it before the Purple People Eater descends from the heavens and eats ya'll up.
