Taken from the balcony this past winter.
Nice shots, I do like the sunset with the pier. I usually winter in Panama City Beach, that was the only year we stayed in Destin.
Thanks Mark, great to have a name.
Comparing jpg to raw is like comparing a print from a film negative to the negative. The jpg is processed from the raw data before it is saved in the camera, you have lost some of the data and some pp options.
A couple from winter 2016.
Thanks , had that picture for a couple years and nobody I showed it to knew what it was.
Found this in my back yard, looks like it's staring at me.
Thank you all for your comments, UHH seems to be a welcoming and encouraging place.
The only time I don't shoot raw is when I'm caught with only my phone.
Shot with d3400 300mm and crop considerably, guess I need to get closer or get a longer lens.
Reciprocity failure is film's reduced sensitivity in low light conditions, requiring longer exposure time.
Are you too young to remember Brownies and Instamatics? Friends would show albums of their vacations or family functions full of point and shoot photographs. What you are describing is just the modern version of what has been happening since the invention of the Kodak camera. I know how depressing it is to see great pictures from those who lack any training or effort, but it is a fact that great photographs can be taking by anyone with a point and shoot camera. As for what we call them, if you use a camera to take a photograph you are, for that moment at least, a photographer.
