I don't know if my reply went to you but The black background on the lily is simply a black trash can sitting behind it. I am not intelligent enough to know the settings so I just let my camera do its thing. Sometimes it surprises me.

But?? take #6, black background. Ordinary I use tight f stop, flash on, low ISO, and hi shutter speed to blot out background.. but you did not almost opposite my my typical settings for flowers!!!
ƒ/4.5 (1/500) ISO equiv: 3200 Flash Fired: No (enforced)... did you use a back drop ??? or was it in post??? Or should I "try it you'll like it."
