Thanks for FS, Larry and, dane, never got to see your camera bag (mine is likely not as impressive ). Roadrunner, really sorry I missed your "Song Title" challenge as that is one of my all time favs. The challenge for this week is to "look up" and capture clouds and/or skies. These are from last week and were skies over the lake where we vacationed with our daughter and family. A beautiful spot.

Great photos! Such texture!

Once again Free Sunday has arrived. Sorry I missed the Music in Photos challenge Jim. It was a really good one. I was looking forward to posting the guy "Standing on the Corner in Winslow, Arizona", but somehow the week flew by without a chance to dig it out of the archives.

It's your chance to post any of your photo exercises that you have tried and would like to share. There is no theme, rhyme or reason for Free Sunday. It's wide open to your tastes.

From the lake last week end I had a couple of shots that I should have used on the challenges, but since I didn't here'™s my chance.

Thanks for hosting. Here is one I didn't get around to posting for the last challenge and two from the week before's vacation.

The smoke from Canada and eastern Washington make for interesting photos.

Great shots! The smoke does make for interesting photos. I am not welcoming it back, though.

I love photographing birds, especially cranes and hummingbirds. I could spend entire days just taking pictures of one or the other, OK I do spend entire days just following the sun, shade and backgrounds. These were taken last weekend in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. I forgot to take my feeder in my camper, so I hollowed out an apple, and put the juice in the cavity. Actually, looks a lot better than those ugly red feeders...or at least I think so. I took over 3,000 pictures, and narrowed down to about 75 that I kept, and these are random of those 75... After a few days, the patterns become predictable and one can anticipate where certain ones will hover, and they will keep going back to the same spot after sipping on the nectar. They are beautiful little buggers. Today, sitting in my office, I swear I heard them buzzing around!

Most of the week I spent going it alone but a couple of days I went out with friends! I find that I get my best shots when I go it alone! I am more relaxed and don't have to worry about what they are doing!

As always, beautiful photos! I particularly like the ones of the bird getting the cherries (?) and feeding to the baby.
