Warning for those of you who don't know:
1. all firearms transfers must go through a licensed FFL dealer with back ground checks done
2. if across state lines there must be a dealer in each state
3. all laws in both states must be complied with also
So "whlsdn" can do everything legally in Colorado but you must also do everything legally in your state.
Otherwise there could be a bunch of felony charges involved. Both state and federal. And on gun charges they each can take a turn prosecuting someone.
I know, I used to work part time for a friend who owned three gun shops.
At an auction I obtained two hunting rifles and a shotgun for my father and brother. They lived in Missouri and I was in California.
They contacted a dealer in Missouri, he contacted my friend's shop. We did all the required paperwork including a background check on me when I obtained the guns through my friend.
Then they were shipped by secure bonded carrier to the shop in Missouri where my father and brother had to go through background checks etc. before they could pick up the guns.

So now Government has record of these arms. This can be good for insurance purposes, but can be bad if gun laws come along and request your arms, legally you would have to do so. Here in Wisconsin I've purchased and sold without and need for legal paperwork to people I know - gun store purchases still need forms and call in, this may soon change here to ALL purchases or transfers. And yes legally if laws change I'd be legally obligated to give up arms whether know by government OR not, but would I??? Actually I've recently reduced guns I own (personal sales, gifts, etc), and probably will continue to do so, .
