The only suggestion and/or consideration I send out is the next step up the 5600 with the articulating screen. It comes in handy for overhead shots and low level shots if you don't wanna bend over or stand on tiptoes etc

I wrote a post a little while back Asking about try podge and was told by me of the hoggers that the gitzo was the best. I don't know if I spelled it right but that's not the point I looked online and there's a number of get souls and the weight allowances somewhere 22 to 26 pounds of carrying weight. I know the best is a matter of opinion. but I will be traveling here shortly and will be using this tripod. I will be in Venice and Prague for both day time and night time long exposures and eventually will use it for astrophotography as well. I found that gitzo a number of tripofss with only a little differences in numbering, and found it hard to distinguish The capabilities and/or functionalities one from another. I presently have a benro that failed miserably legs came apart. With a ball head. I probably won't be doing much if any macro so don't need a super low one. looking for ideas and numbers. I know the holidays are coming and the sales are on but I'm willing to spend up to a 1000. I presently shoot a D 500 and occasionly with A150 to 00 tamron lens. But most of the time will be shooting a smaller lens 18 to 300 Max Any suggestions for the gitzo or others would be appreciated. I stand 5'9''

I find I come here for technical advice only and And my skin is getting thicker. As I find many here are very technical to the point of OCD almost, Yet lack what I would consider a certain artistic ability . That being said it's an opinion that many on here would not understand because it could not be quantified.

I can see I have to be more explicit on here your right t's not completely 100% women but of what I saw it was. But my point /question was simply why is there so much skewed Towards women I realize there's never with fewyexceptions a 100% anything. Just like I need to remember there's not a 100% litersl snarky nerds here who can't read between the lines. but there sure are a lot more of them than there are open minded independent thinking individuals Who understand With out at me stated there are no absolute Hard-and-fast rules for anything and everything. Not sure if that's been since the beginning of time but maybe since the beginning of the hog. But it was just a simple observation on my part, and yet I've heard no responses thus far that I'm aware of from women. Which according to Wikipedia is only about 0.03 to 0.04% less than A5050 ratio in the world today. Just their opinion, (fact)? .

I guess my real question why women nudes only, And I understand enough about probability and statistics to say that very few if any genres, lifestyle whatever are 100% all 1 gender 1 color 1 anything. But that being said I guess I should let it go, because I find that the Hog to be primarily men. Thank all of you for your responses opinions points of view and ideas.

As I have read many if not all of the responses to my Observation/question. I can see and concur with many of you perhaps about the openness of the younger generation, And the perceived beauty of the younger smoother body to that of an older less so. Whether I agree or not is irrelevant. But to further my observation and question. In the past there have been numerous sculptures of nude men and women. and although I don't know necessarily who was the artist of all of , if not most for that matter. I wonder why in this forum and at this time, why there were no nudes of men, And a seemingly lack of women photographers. And a seemingly lack of women respondents within this thread. As one mentioned in this thread about different cultures where women need to be covered up-and-or were possessions I know that was far more prevalent and extensive in the past. yet the expression a both men and women was accomplished in those times and I don't see it here on this forum just a curiosity on my part.

I know what you mean about the cost I went to Europe once with 30 rolls of film and bought 10 or so when I was there that got pricey when I got home .
And I think I've simply learned that I can shoot as many as I want without regard to cost and maybe should concentrate a bit more on what I'm doing but sometimes I just I guess like to hear the click of a camera lol

That said, please be keenly aware of the legal implication involved in taking photos of identifiable individuals without their explicit consent... btw, I'm just the messenger here and I'm not licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction... However I am somewhat aware of the limits of the first amendment in regard to photographing individuals in public space... And I'm very careful not to offend...

FYI: "As a form of expression, photography is protected in the U.S. by the First Amendment to the Constitution. But photographers are often forced to defend their right to take pictures (and record video) in public places. That has been especially true since the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the passage of the Patriot Act."

Times have changed dyximan... we no longer live in a age where newspapers, magazines and printed materials etc are a principle source of information dissemination...

Best Advice: Please review the ASMP's guide to Model Releases...
https://www.asmp.org/property-model-releases/
They may be germane to your endeavors...

Once again hope this helps or is at least food for thought...
I wish you well on your journey dyximan

Yes I understand to to a point the legal aspects of photography. And especially those that involve people and recognition, but my intent is for personal use only as I don't think I would ever sell any

If 36 exposure roll film that would be 4,444 rolls and a big hole in your pocket. Digital has freed us from the great expense of color film and processing. I recall taking spring flowers and spending $50 when $50 was a lot of money, perhaps $500 in today's world. The young in UHH do not appreciate the freedom that digital gives them like we who grew up with film do.

Eric Kim said in an article... "Nowadays I don’t shoot very much black and white film, but because black-and-white development in the states is so expensive (most places charge around $20/roll)"
https://petapixel.com/2015/03/23/i-had-164-rolls-of-film-processed-at-once-heres-how-i-do-it/

At that cost, $20 per roll, 160,000 clicks of B&W street photography would have cost dyximan $88,888... WOW

Well I am learning a little more about post Processing and how to keep the exposure a little closer to natural as I prefer underexposed but have learned I lose too many details better to be slightly over exposed and fix it I also have a tendency to bracket 4 to 5 stops And more sometimes

Anyone know of an (free) simple Exif data editor that I can use to change the listed focal length of the lens used? I was using a vintage Asahi smc-Pentax-K 24mm 1:2.8 Lens. This is a first generation Pentax bayonet mount lens, not the more common M or A series. Anyway, when using this sort of lens with no electrical contacts you should manually set the known focal length into the camera body when you first turn the lens on after mounting it. That is for Exif and VR/AS use. The camera has no idea what lens in on it with K, M, and M-42 Takumar Pentax lenses. I forgot to input 24mm so all my photos are tagged with "50mm" which was FL of the previous lens used on the camera it seems. Thank you.

Here is the UHH "Street Photography" forum
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-121-1.html

Albeit your query might be better served in the Main Photography Discussion
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-1-1.html in which gear is the primary focus and little if any credence is given to actual photographic technique or skills...

Hope this helps...

That said back in the day when I mistakenly believed "Street" images might possibly have market value I toyed with it only long enough to discover that portraiture was infinitely more lucrative... a.k.a. "Street" was basically a relic of yesteryear's PJ shooters i.e. photo journalist.... btw, they have all since been fired from virtually every publication... Stock Agencies long ago killed that market share...

However if you want to time travel back into the days of Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004)...
And are independently wealthy... by all means go for it!

Again back in my earlier "naive" days... circa late 1970's
Street PJ from Hagerstown, Maryland
Camera: Nikon F2
Lens: 50mm f1.4 AI Nikkor (manual focus)
Film: TriX ASA 400 shot at ISO 400
Developer: D76 1:1

And I would be remiss if I didn't share my thoughts on a solution to your query...
Since you mentioned you're migrating to FF...
The Z 58mm f/0.95 S Nikkor is virtually unrivaled for your needs...

If I'm not mistaken the lens of which you spoke isnt that the new one from Nikon with f,95 that's like 8 grand. With the ability to shoot a black cat in a coal mine 2 miles below the Earth's surface lol. Oh And I'm not doing it for the money. I'm just a curious and inquisitive kind of guy who likes to get his facts fiction and opinions from some of the hoggers on occasion.
