Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that but with macular degeneration my focus capability has gone and I get blind spots so it really doesn't help. Not to bad yet but eventually I'll have to quit driving, or drinking one or the other.

Sorry to hear that, I have a nephew (35 yrs. old) with the same condition and has already had to give up driving. Good luck to you and God bless.

Sorry to hear of your condition. Have you considered the use of live view on a tethered laptop so you can zoom in close to gain critical focus?

Thanks! Corrected.

No problem, nice set by the way. I'd be tempted if I hadn't just purchased an SB910 and an 85mm f/1.4 lens. I've already got 3 macro lenses ranging from 60mm, 105mm and 200mm. Good luck with your sale...

I have a combination of lenses and a Nikon PB4 with attachments. This post is continued on Nikon Macro Set 2

First is a Nikon Nikkor 35mm F/2 AIS Manual Focus Lens. This lens is in mint condition, no fungus, no splits, it looks new and comes with a standard Nikon pouch and both caps. Asking 270.00, I'll pay the shipping in CONUS.

Second is a Nikon Nikkor 28mm F/2.8 AIS Manual Focus Lens. This is in the same condition as the 35mm, mint. Also has a standard Nikon pouch and both caps. Asking $295.00, I'll pay the shipping in CONUS.

Third is a Nikon PB-4 Bellows. This comes with 2-55mm adapters, a BR-6 Auto Adapter Ring, a Nikon AR-3 cable release, a 4X PLAN microscope lens with a 55mm adapter and also a 4 inch Arca Swiss plate. The bellows is in excellent condition. The only flaw is a number that was written on the front of the bellows (see photo in Nikon Macro Set 2 post), I assume as a stock number. No tears in the bellows and all the tracks and movements run smoothly. I'm selling this for $275.00 complete.

If you purchase all three items I'll go to $800.00 and I'll throw in a really nice bag that holds all the equipment perfectly. Ballistic nylon with a suade front.

Check the post Nikon Macro Set 2 for the remaining photos.

Your lens isn't a 28mm, it's a 24mm... You may want to correct your listing.

Any suggestions for photography along the Kancamangus next week? Or, any suggestions for other NH/Vt locations. I am from Alaska visiting my daughter in Maine so I am totally at your mercy .

The Kanc isn't all that long of a run from end to end. You'll find a number of vistas and pull off places to shoot. You'll be hitting it at a good time it's just about peak for the fall colors. Take your time and happy shooting to you.

I'm struggling with the proper use of spot metering on my D810. I use BBF and have matrix meter as default with the fn button assigned to spot meter. How do I spot meter and reframe without loosing the reading with this setup? I'm strictly a hobbyist and shoot what ever interests me, indoor/outdoor and generally use 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 lenses. Any coaching on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

As already mentioned you'll use AE lock once you've metered your subject then recompose. Since you're using BBF you can assign the AE lock function to the half press of the shutter release, without using up another of your function buttons to do so.

This whole post comes across as a scam. First it is Macro not micro. This indicates you do not know basic photography terms so I have to question your ability to use the equipment correctly.

You pick the most expensive brands which if this is a scam you know you could sell quickly. Why anyone would buy a camera in this manner raises red flags or should to most of us.

You are a new user here and this is one of your first posts. You may be legit but the post suggests you may not be.

Still available. It is all metal except for the focusing ring which is molded plastic. Serial no. is 4244260. The more valuable, and earlier version's focusing ring is metal covered with rubber, and focuses more closely than the 2f/0.6m of this one. I've been told that these pancakes, the old series E 50mm and the current 50mm AF 1.8D, all have the same optical design which has garnered such glowing praise.
Let me know if you want to make a bid.
Bob (Pilot 6)

Okay, thanks for the info. I was hoping it was the earlier version. I've already got a couple of the 50 1.8D's, per Nikon's spec sheet they are good down to 1.5f/0.45m. I'll pass on making a bid, good luck with the auction.

My age-related woes dictate a divorce from DSLRs. I am offering the following at auction according to the stated terms:(A) Nikon D750 body. (B) Nikkor 24-85mm, 3.5/4.5G ED VR. (C) Nikkor 50mm 1.8 AIS manual focus pancake. And (D) Voigtlander 28mm 2.8 Color Skopar
Nikon mount. Details of the items items are below.

TERMS: Limited to Continental United States. Bids in at least $1.00 increments to be made only as replies to this posting. No bids will be accepted as PMs---personal messages. On each item, Pilot 6 will make the opening bid stated below which will be his ONLY bid. Bidding will end at 12 midnight EDT on the UHH clock, Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, and winners will be announced in the digest the following day. The UHH clock will be the game clock and will decide ties, the earlier bid received prevailing. Status of the four auctions will be posted daily in the classified section of the digest. Pilot 6 reserves the right to ad to or subtract from this posting, but not to alter the fundamental terms of it.

DETAILS: (A) Nikon D750 bought new by me on August 16 this year from Shutterbug in Eugene, OR (sales slip included) as part of 24-120 kit. Body is USA, has less than 100 shutter count, is like brand new and is unregistered with Nikon. Includes all paper work and manuals, body cap, Nikon battery and charger, strap, software, after-market battery, screen protector and shipping.
Opening bid is $800.00.

(B) 24-85 Nikkor 3.5/4.5G ED VR In excellent condition. Includes caps, hood, Hoya UV filter, bag and shipping.
Opening bid is $200.00.

(C) Nikkor 50mm 1.8 AIS pancake in excellent condition. This is one of the very sharpest of all Nikon lenses, has creamy-smooth focusing, tank-like build, and is tiny and unobtrusive---ideal for street shooting. Includes caps, Pro-Master UV filter and shipping.
Opening bid is $100.00

(D) Voigtlander Color Skopar 28mm 2.8 is the last and best version of this lens made in Japan by Cosina, and now discontinued. Although there are a few of these around in Canon mounts, this one in Nikon mount is fully meter-coupled and quite rare. I was able to find it new on line in Hongkong where I paid $500.00 for it about a year ago. The very small size (same as the Nikkor pancake) makes even a D810 less intimidating. It is of all metal build, ultra sharp with focusing as smooth as a "baby's bottom". This one is like new. Includes caps, bag, B+W UV filter and shipping.
Opening bid is $250.00

PAYMENT: Any practical way other than Paypal.

QUESTIONS: Please PM Pilot 6.

Hi Pilot, is the 50mm f/1.8 still available? Is it the all metal construction version? If so I'll open the bidding @ $101.00

I believe you have a choice on your camera to switch to DX mode, if you do so, you will gain 150mm onto the length of your current lens. It will have the effective focal length of 450 mm. Without having to use a teleconverter.
With that said I would like to add that your travel camera, with the 28-300 added is an extremely heavy outfit for travel. I believe you would be better fit with a Sony HX90V that has a 28-750mm Zeiss lens and will fit in your pocket. I get 20X30 enlargements with it with no problems.

Crop factor only effects field of view not magnification. On an APS-C sensor you'll retain the full amount of megapixels the camera has, on full frame it's no different than cropping in post processing, DX mode reduces the D850's 46 MP down to about 19.5 MP, you may realize less noise this way though versus cropping in post.

Yes, but what I need to do is move away from the computer to interact with my subjects......young children. The remote shutter release would allow me to do that. In addition I need t he Capture software to complete the exposure and transfer the file from camera to computer. That's the problem.

Okay, does your camera support a wireless trigger or phone application? Chances are you're using a trigger on the hot shoe to trigger your lights, or are you using the on camera flash as a master to trigger your lights? If your hot shoe is available check out Vello's Shutterboss III, it's wireless as well as wired, it uses a hot shoe mounted radio trigger good out to 250'.

Or if you have another port available perhaps another type of trigger can make use of that port.

I have the Oly em-1 mirrorless. Oly has the Capture software for tethered shooting and it works well but for one major problem. Their multi plug will accept usb/tethered connection OR remote cable release but not both at the same time. Has anyone figured out a work around to achieve tethering AND remote shutter control? OLY says it can't be done. Is it only because they don't offer a combo cable? Any ideas for a solution would be appreciated. Would connection to the pc port offer remote shutter control? I realize this port is normally used to fire flash units.

You don't need a remote cable, you fire off the camera using the application you are tethered to, usually it's the space bar on the laptop or computer you're connected to or there's an icon you click with your mouse.
