Here are a few of mine. I can say I am very impressed with the image quality of this lens, but it is extremely heavy, you'll build muscle using it.

Birds we don't see in the USA. Lovely to see what we don't have. Post some more from time to time, if you please! You are adding to my GAS problem!

From living on the coast for a number of years, I'd say that the weather is always "iffy." Google the weather for Coos Bay and look at the ten-day and long range forcasts. I hope you have a good trip in some spectacular country.

When I was shooting film, I thought tbat getting one good photo on a roll of film was doing great! Now, I tend to think that if it's NOT good, might as well delete it!

I don't think I have the space for all the curio cases I would need. Let's see -- Pentax SLR bodies and lenses, Nikon SLR bodies and lenses, Canon non-autofocus SLR bodies and lenses, Olympus SLR bodies and lenses, Leica bodies and lenses, all-in-one cameras, twin-lens cameras, various European bodies and lenses, various other accessories for each maker, slide duplicators, and oh yeah, some Minolta lenses. I think I don't want to face the music as to "wasted" money, but at the time, all of it seemed logical.

Facts can be nasty.

Genessi, I have a Tamron 18-270mm that I like for a lot of things, but I'd say that your 16-300 would get you some good wide-angle stuff. Good hunting!

Hi fellow Hogs,
My wife and I are going on a trip in April, that is going to take us up the coast highway. Years ago I lived in Santa Barbara but never took Hwy 1 . I am up for suggestions for places to visit and photograph between Solvang and Santa Cruz. Also any suggestions between San Francisco and Salt Lake. We will have around a week to make the trip, unless I can talk the misses into an extra day or ten (haha). Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Both of the Julia Pfifer state parks are worth your attention. In the Burns section, there is a waterfall that drops directly onto beach. I'll try to find my photos of it. The elephant seal whelping area is also great fun.

Hi
We have family in Ca. We visit almost every year. We have been up the Coast Highway to Hearst Castle. about 4 years ago. Hearst was the Newspaper guy. His daughter was kidnapped many years ago. Solvang is a beautiful little town. Lots of Danish Pastry shops. Music was played all day. Horse and buggy rides was the order of the day. And many wind Mill type stores. On your way to Solvang there is a place called Madonna Inn. It looks like a cave inside and has a Must see bathroom. Its strange. Big shells for sinks and a waterfall in the men's room about the size of a fireplace. If you go to the L.A. Arboretum you can visit the location of the old Fantasy Island house every Christmas they have a house tour. It was from the TV show. L.A. Arboretum , Its actually outside of Pasadena in Arcadia Ca. Santa Anita Race Track is also there. Huntington Gardens is in San Marino Ca. Hope you have a great trip !

I have newer vehicles and image stabilization, but how do you turn off grandkids jumping in the back seat?

Depending on how many, get them all cameras and have a Photo-shoot day!

I've seen this several times on Facebook and a couple of other places. They all talk about whether you see White and Gold, or, Blue and Black. Every single photo I've seen looks Blue and Gold to me. I must see things differently.

I'm with Ralloh, the dress looks blue and gold to me. I didn't see any posted image that I would think white. I'm not going to consider myself THE authority on this picture!

An independant TV station in Los Angeles showed the middle edition of the dress against the color test picture that is aired when stations are off the air, and the result was very much more to the one on the right. I thought then that 'why all the dispute over "perception?"' A fun discussion, here though, Chuck.

Which of the viewing turn-outs did you use? I took some similar photos Thanksgiving time. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
