Well, sort of my first camera. My stepfather brought a Kodak Brownie back that he used in England when he was in the Eighth Air Force and that became our family camera. Easter 1947 my older sister took me in tow and we went out to shoot some photos with her best friend. She was 14 and I was 4. At one point she told me to hold the camera while the two of them were involved with something else. I had been watching how it was done and decided I wanted to take a photo so I took a picture of her. When the prints came back she looked at me with a smile and said "You took this photo!"
My first camera and my first photo!

Snapshots and family photos will prove to be the most valuable. In the long run no one will care about all the beautiful shots you took. They will eventually want to know who that is in the photo who looks like my sister, or my child or grandchild.

Make sure they are all capable of shooting a pano. Otherwise all you get is Loch Ness Bigfeet.

Yeah! Been there, done that! I hate when that happens.

Your problem is "Autocorrect" not "Spellcheck." "Spellcheck" just highlights a misspelled word but does not change it. "Autocorrect" is the evil genius that is screwing with you. Either can be turned off individually.

They want to find out why the rats died. If what they sell is killing the rats, it's probably no good for people, either. (Kidding, of course)

Or it just needs to be properly labeled!

Did you check in System Preferences>Security & Privacy to see if you can download apps from "app store and identified developers?"

I use a Canon Canoscan FS4000US which I bought new many years ago. It still does a far superior job of scanning slides and film strips (35mm) compared to my Epson V700. Yes it takes a long time to make a really good scan but you don't need to stand there and watch it! A few years ago I found another one on eBay for $100 so I bought it as a backup. It was also good to get a second set of carriers for film and slides so I could have the next four slides ready to go. I can get it going, leave the house and when I return, load up the next four. Same thing while watching the news or eating dinner, or going to bed.
I see there are still some available on eBay but be careful to buy one that has the carriers for film strips and slides! These are hard to find!

Actually if you do wait for it to complete a set of four slides you can be busy typing in the metadata for the previous four and touching them up in Photoshop. I scan slides as DNG files and then open them in ACR.

Here's one that I spotted on eBay but it looks like it does not have any carriers or a power cord. I don't know how they can say it has been tested!

A note of caution: you will not be able to operate the Canon software as there is no modern operating system that recognizes the drivers. I use my FS4000US with Vuescan software from Hamrick, which is a dream to use IMO. I also run my Epson V700 with Vuescan.

I have used a V700 since 2014 and love it. Whatever you buy I would suggest you invest in Vuescan software. It will run any scanner made, offers the option to save scans as DNG files, and is constantly updated to add new scanners and features. The real beauty is you never have to learn new software if you buy a new scanner! It also runs old scanners that no longer have drivers for newer operating systems.

I got my Pfizer booster yesterday at a Walgreens here in NYC. In and out in about 45 minutes because so many people were there for flu shots.
