Having just purchased a new Sony, I am selling my 'in great condition' Sony A77 and Sony Battery Grip with three batteries for $650.

There are no scratches or issues. Camera works great as does the Grip.

If you're interested I am also selling my Tamron 70-200 2.8 APSC lens. My new camera is full frame. The price is $400. It is in excellent condrition as well.

Before selling the lens make sure that it really is aps-c.I'm not aware of a Tamron 70-210/2.8 that won't cover full frame..

After playing around with both my Sony alpha 6000 and 3000 cameras, I have come to prefer their image quality over my Canon Rebel and Micro 4/3 cameras. Their main drawback is that their is a relative shortage of good, reasonably priced lenses, particularly long zoom for that system. On the other hand, if I buy the Sony adapter for just over $300.00, I can use A mount lenses from Sony, older Konica/Minolta lenses, as well as numerous 3rd party lenses from Tamron and Sigma. Anyone have experience with this approach?

I have that adapter for my NEX 7 bodies, and it works fine. I am currently leaning toward going full-frame and getting the A7ll body. In that event, even though my current adapter would fit the new body I would still be in crop-frame mode, so I might be persuaded to turn loose of the adapter. I also have some e-mount lenses that I'd be willing to part with. send me a pm and we can discuss it.

Jerry-I think that some of the errors are typos, but many of them are made out of laziness or ignorance. It is a sad commentary on the state of education today that bad grammar and miss-spelling is so commonplace. I will note that you have to pay attention to auto complete. It sometimes puts in words you didn't intend to be there, so you have to pay attention as you go.

you're wrong about #11-burning bras was part of the women's lib movement. Other than flags, many young men burned their Draft Cards.

You may be right. I missed the proper spelling of the title 'Governor'!
Good catch. I always try to use the proper spelling and usage of grammar, and it irritates me when someone says something like "get a life" when I criticize their improper use of the language. It seems to me that we are accepting lower and lower standards of communication. To me it is disrespectful and lazy to not take the time to get it right.

Well Jerry apparently my great great grandparents had a twisted sense of humor, because they gave my great grandfather the first name "Governer". Until I was an adult I thought he was actually the former governer of Washington!

Just because you can find multiple sources on the internet saying something doesn't mean it is true. They could be getting their information from another source which is wrong. Even the Fox story disputes their own headline by saying in the story that photographing the tower at night isn't illegal, it's distributing the photos. And it's commercial use they are going to go after, not tourists' photos.

And then we get into the discussion of what constitutes 'commercial use'!

Very pleased with my one encounter. They fixed the problem I caused with no charge, updated my firmware, and didn't charge me return shipping.

And they were fast!

Amen to that! I had a problem (of my own making). In a clumsy attempt at cleaning the mirror of my A-77, I damaged it. Also, it was a 'grey-market' camera. I made the service center aware of both facts at the beginning of the conversation. I was told that it would cost around$100 to repair it. I sent it via UPS on a Wednesday, and on Saturday I received an e-mail stating that they had received it. The following Tuesday I received notice that my camera was repaired and would be shipped the next day. I called them and asked what the cost was, and I was told there was NO CHARGE! I then asked them what had been done and
was informed that they had replaced the mirror and made sure that all of the functions of the camera were working properly. I received the camera the following Saturday-a little more than a week after I sent it in! Needless to say, I'm pleased!

Actually, it probably isn't the Walton family, but someone high up in corporate management. It seems to me that most of the corporate management of Walmart has no idea what Sam Walton was about. I have a hunch that there is a very warm spot on the ground in front of Sam's headstone caused by his constant turning over in his grave!

Although I am hardly a fan of Walmart I do see their point. If you are working for someone and you produce a product, that product doesn't belong to you, it belongs to the person that has hired you to produce it.
I'll be interested to see how the court rules.

Slightly wrong-a professional photographer is an independent contractor if operating a studio to which people come to have photographs made. The subject of the photograph is usually given the right to use an image, and if more images are desired, they must pay for them, unless other rights have been spelled out and granted. This is the reason for the refusal by most labs(Walmart included)to print professional appearing photos without a release from the photographer. If the photographer in question in the original post was an employee of Walmart, it would be a different story, but on the indication is that the photographer in question owned a studio to which the Walton family came to have portraits made. The rights in that case remain with the photographer.

I see it nearly every day on Craigslist-"need photographer to do some portraits. Don't need prints-just give me the memory card!" I would laugh, but in too many cases photographers capitulate, which then makes it harder for everyone else to make a living.
