touched more deeply than any other tribute I've ever seen. Thanks.

Photography is art and art comes in many forms because there are many different tastes and ideas about what art (and photography) really are. It might not be something I'd hang in my living room, but I bet there are people who would find this intriguing and worth purchasing.

I'd be more than happy to get back to humor and fun discussions here that were not inflammatory - religious or political - and simply know we are all different with different views. No name calling. No hurtful bullying.

In California we have a lifetime benefit cut off. Either 6 or 8 years, I can't remember. And there is a limit on how many children will be covered so that women can't continue to have children just to receive higher benefits. When the youngest in the family reaches the age of 6 and begins school, the parent is required to find at least part time work and benefits are scaled back accordingly. This only effects the cash portion and not the medical or food stamp portion, but it is a start.

Guess I'm the universal skeptic. When someone says "good morning," I will head to my laptop to check the weather report, look at my daily calendar and THEN decide perhaps they were right and it just could be a good morning. :-) I don't accept anything written or spoken without first making sure I know the source and background on it. I know I drive people nuts but I'd rather someone else look foolish - not I.
BTW, I believe the correct use of less/more in your subject should be "less smart" and not "less smarter."

Very expensive to stay inside the park. There are many nice but lesser priced places within a 15 minute drive of any of the park entrances. It would be great to stay at the Inn there for at least one or two nights, but the price is really ridiculous. Also, the area surrounding the park is absolutely gorgeous as well and many of the small towns nearby are quite charming.

A fact lost in history - Lincoln did not advocate equality for races. He believed there was a dominant race (whites) and a dependent, non-dominant race (coloreds). In setting slaves free, he only wished to convey that owning another person was wrong, but he did not establish equal rights when he did that. I have been studying American Presidents and their documented positions on their historical decisions for the last few years and it is amazing how few presidents actually believed in equality of races and only enacted policies to avoid civil wars, as trades for other policies. I am sure this will be debated, however, there are written documents that have been collected during each presidency (including Washington) that tell much different stories than the ones our history books and spoken legends tell.

My most horrific memory of my mother was back when I was 9 years old. My dad was in another state finding a new job and house for us. She had to carry on for several months with taking care of her and me. She had never mowed the lawn before and reluctantly went out one Saturday morning to do so. A few minutes after hearing the mower start up, I heard her screaming. I ran to the sliding glass door that over looked the back yard. She was screaming and crying and running for the door. I went to open it. She shook her head violently and suddenly she swerved off, heading towards the next yard. I started out the front door for our neighbor's house (and her best friend's) when the neighbor intercepted me. Mother had run over an underground nest of bees and received over 48 stings. She had realized at the last minute that running into the safety of the house would have brought most of the swarm with her, so to save me, she led the bees off and managed to shake most of them by the time she got to the next house. I have always hated that she gave her own safety to insure mine. I was helpless. She was mildly allergic but after treatment at the ER, she spent several days recovering painfully at home. Every time I mow my own yard now, I have flashes of that day and a fear it might happen to me someday...

"Fibonacci" is a principle that is an accurate guideline for many things. It is a scientific theory that is applied in many broad-based areas. For example, it is used in financial markets for trends and expected overall movements in the market over time. It is also demonstrated perfectly and beautifully in nature with appearances in flowers and plant structure.

10 years ago I got a call at work from someone who told me they had kidnapped my son and they'd harm him if I didn't pay their ransom demand. I was told not to go to the police or I wouldn't see my son alive. They told me to wait by the phone and they would call me back with their money demand. I hung up, called the local police but I was told there was nothing they could do until I could prove they actually had my son and it wasn't a prank! As a single mother, I called the school who FINALLY located my son on campus. I did get a call back from this person demanding I drop $5000; by then, I knew my son was ok and I simply hung up on the person. Never got help from the cops and the person who called me got away without damage - probably to try it again on some other poor soul. I don't have much good to say about police responses - even less to day about these homeland security troopers who can't seem to figure out what their job really is...

Let the corporation reduce bonuses and benefits, monetary incentives and highly offensive salaries, start using fresh ingredients and pay employees a decent wage. We could pay a dollar more per item there and only 3 cents would go towards better employee salaries and we'd still get plastic cheese and pre-formed, regurgitated chicken on buns.

I have the privilege of knowing a photographer and lava field guide who does this at all hours. Night is very dangerous because one foot placed in a weak crust area, and the foot is gone in a flash. He often posts on YouTube and has a few documentaries of residents who are in the direct path of a lava flow and do not leave until a section of their home begins to blaze. These photographers are truly brave and exciting people.

Actually, he's quite right in this case. It took some investigation into some of the things he was pointing out, but he was very well versed in what he was saying.
