You don't know what you are saying :) But thank you very much! It means a lot. I never thought I'd be brave enough to post a photo!

I do LOVE my tilt screen. Slippery rocks on a steep hill near a mountain stream? No problem!

The cheapest way is to ask your wife/girlfriend if she has a sling bag that she doesn't use anymore. I know my wife has a number of black nylon bags that I may use in the future.

FYI: My daughter has a sling bag that she loves. I am lopsided enough as it is.

I'm the wife so alas, there are no bags to confiscate (I just have to settle for closet space.)

Thank you for everyone's help.

I never heard of a lumbar pack but that is probably a better name for what I am looking for. Something I can wear behind me but can have in front that gives me quick access to my camera (wild horses don't give you much time to grab your camera!) Thank you very much.

I have a Canon 60D with 3 filters and a flash that I want to carry while hiking on rocky, step trails, in Virginia (hot, humid.) I would like a hip pack to keep my back cool and my hands free to catch myself when crossing slippery streams. Being able to carry a water bottle and a tripod would be a bonus.
There are so many to chose from (and I hate making decisions). Are there any you love or hate?

Andrea, I am glad to hear that! I debated on whether or not to even bother to clarify this but I would not want to leave anyone with the wrong impression about Canon's warranty (just in case someone has a broken Canon out there.) The warranty is one year. This was not out of warranty work.

The reason my daughter has bought so many Canons is because that is what I've always bought. My co-workers, friends, and family, have also asked advice on what camera to buy, and the person I used to do weddings with bought the same camera I was using at the time. When my daughter goes on big shoots, people will surely say that they are in the market for a camera, and "how do you like yours?" As these blogs testify, we are always in the market for an upgrade. For a lousy $ 20.00 Canon lost a lot of good will and future sales. In my opinion, not a smart business move at all.

The second 60D camera was purchased, after much research, about 4 months ago.

She never suspected that her expensive, Canon (!) camera would have a problem. She blamed herself. Finally she knew something was wrong with the camera when she started comparing the photos she took with her first 60D, and my Canon 60D, and them got on-line and started reading blogs.

I recently had my a Camera lens repaired and it took 2-3 weeks.

It sounds like you are quite a Canon fan. Believe me, I've owned a lot of Canon cameras and have always been a fan myself. But, in my humble opinion, you should NOT have to pay shipping for an item that has a manufacturers defect that they know about!

The pictures with just the one camera are not sharp. We even did a side by side comparison taking the same photo. I was told that the fix is an adjustment of the mirrors. What that means, I can't tell you.

Between my daughter and I we have owned 3 Canon 60D's. The pictures never seemed as sharp with one of the cameras. She found that some of the 60D's indeed have a defect with focus. This week she called Canon. She is using this camera to build a marketing business and does a lot of charity work. Canon is willing to fix the camera under warranty however they wanted to charge her for postage and it they said it will take 2-3 weeks to return her camera. This is a problem that they know they have! I've always owned Canons but this is the last one I'll buy.
