Great shots. My Rottie always wakes up enough to give me 'the look' when I get my camera out ... have taken to using my new cell phone to get candid shots since he doesn't know it's a camera :)

Thank you!
Boomer, the big yellow Labradoodle, is the only one that is camera shy, I was lucky to get this shot of him!

You got to love the look on their faces, good pictures.

Thank you!
They really wanted to go outside and play but it's been too hot for them over the past week, so they have been stuck in the house with the A/C cranked up!

Have you contacted an exterminator?

These guys can get very aggressive when the season changes to cooler weather.

I've already tried spraying Raid a couple times with little effect, it only worked if the Yellow Jackets were sprayed directly, so now I'm thinking that your right- an exterminator is the way to go.

Wonderful shots. What equipment and settings? Glad you didn't get stung. Very brave.

Thank you for the compliment!
Sorry this reply is a little late, and that I can't answer your question right now. I had a wedding to go to this past weekend and I am also helping out on my mom n dad's farm this week while mom is having a surgery done. I left my older camera, a GE X-600 at home- that was the camera that I used to get these shots- and I also left my other laptop, the one that I saved these shots onto, at home also. The GE doesn't allow me to change settings while shooting in the close-up mode, so I would have to check the data to let you know the settings.

I recently came across these Yellow Jackets that found a hole where electrical wiring runs into the house and they built their nest in the wall. So I thought it would bee a good idea to put myself in danger and get up close and personal with them! A few of them landed on me but luckily none of them stung me!

The shot of the spider was taken with my GE X-600 and the frogs were taken with my Nikon D-3100

I was watching this spider as it was repairing it's web

(Download)

This tree frog kept jumping on my arm when I was trying to get a shot, it finally settled down and posed for me while resting on my thumb

This bullfrog came up from the pond to pay me a little visit

Okay, I know Wolf spiders are fairly harmless, but that was just gross.... LOL I hope the snake made a good meal out of all of them. Babies and all! Can you tell I despise spiders? ;-) Cheers.

The spiders are still here, but the snake hasn't returned, maybe the snake despises spiders also! But the spiders still have to be on guard because there are a lot of frogs that come around as well!

Interesting!!!

I agree, it is very interesting to see that a Wolf Spider will protect and take such good care of her babies while other spiders are on their own when they hatch!
