The NP venture sounds really great! Some are not allowing sleeping in vehicles unless you are in a camp sight and attempting to do so outside the park is both typically discouraged and unsafe. YNP does not require reservations to visit, but lodging or camping is by reservation that opens up a year before the day you desire.

We usually fly to any destination much over 300 miles and rent a car.

A cellphone or car clock are the only timepieces we need!

Come onnnnnnn full retirement!! Been there since Jan 2011!

Regarding the NP adventure and where to sleep, we just finished a 3 month long 20,000 km road trip in my RV and never spent a single night in a campsite. We stayed at Walmarts, McDonalds, Lowes, and truck stops for overnight, always with permission. We used hotel stays periodically to shower and get WiFi in comfort. We also never used the toilet in the RV, opting for gas stations and restaurants (saves a rather messy job of emptying the holding tanks).

We have the Senior's Lifetime Pass for national parks, and that saved us a ton of money. I highly recommend it for anyone eligible.

I don’t get together with school or work colleagues. My circle of friends has changed towards neighbors and cultural/social circles.

If not shot, then at least neutered.

Not sure who won, but America — and possibly the free world — lost.

Who in their right mind would have assigned a case this serious to such an inexperienced judge in the first place?

As I have said regarding EVERY court case involving Trump, his lawyers will use every avenue to drag the cases out as long as possible. SCOTUS should simply have grabbed every case and ruled on it. Trying a former POTUS for criminal activity is just too important to allow everything to fester within the system.

The Theory of Natural Selection is accepted because there is evidence to prove that beings ascended to the "top of the food chain" because they did things that kept them alive when others of their species died because they didn't adapt. That does not prove that a deity "oversees" that process. Natural selection, per se, means that there is no "grand plan". Life evolves because beings did/do things that the rest of the crowd didn't. When mankind first crawled out of the forest and stood on two legs, the survivors were the ones who didn't stand upright immediately and get hammered by a big raptor, or they evaded the predatory cat others didn't.

It also goes back to simpler life when a genetic deviation allowed a creature to avoid being eaten because it sensed a shadow and got out of the way.

All of this happened millions (billions?) of times with the survivors adapting to their environment, ensuring that genetic mutation survived. There was no "guiding" hand that maintained control. It was/is all random.

IF there is a god, then I believe he created "matter" (electrons, protons, neutrons, muons, pions, etc) and their properties, much as LEGO has building blocks. There are rules as to how they interact, but the results are unpredictable. And here we are!!!

Thanks for YOUR views on those topics.

Interesting that Rac just ignored the issues. I suspect he has difficulty with honest answers, especially if the issues become more specific and detailed.

For example, if one believes in resurrection of the flesh, then how will married/divorced/remarried folks live in harmony in heaven? At what "age" will people be resurrected (eg, do people who die of old age or illness on a bed come back as sick on the bed? At what age will an infant be resurrected? Will the infant grow to some age and then stop aging so that the family can enjoy being reunited?)?

Lots of incongruences in religion that are not rationally explainable; yet Rac wants to argue rationally about belief systems.

Hey, Rac, let's take this discussion a little sideways, but still keeping it basically on religion.

What is a human soul?

Do you believe in reincarnation (ie, an old soul in a new body)?
Do you believe in resurrection (of the flesh; will the resurrected have a human form as we have today)?
Do animals have souls?
Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?
Do you believe you will be reunited (physically) with those who have died? Or those who will die in the future?
Will pet owners be reunited with their dearly loved pets?
When is "The End of Existence" and "The Beginning of the Everlasting?"
Am I sinning by asking these (and many more) questions?

I believe God... or any god... exists and is real... inside the brain of the believer.

A belief is nothing more than a thought or series of thoughts. Thoughts are nothing more than a pattern of electrical stimuli/connections in the brain. And these electrical impulses are really the result of chemical reactions in the neurons that make up the brain. And the chemicals in the neurons exist and are real.

Thus, since the chemicals are real, then the thought process that creates and supports a belief in God is real.

Therefore, GOD EXISTS and IS REAL... but ONLY in the MIND of the BELIEVER.

C'mon, guys... stop arguing what a "toy camera" is. It is a camera for photographing toys.

And as shown, the photographer has captured 2 "toys" in each frame.

I don't know what your legal system in the "great white north" entails but our legal system allows for due process as enumerated in the Fourteenth Amendment of our Constitution. Sometimes it works on behalf of defendants and sometimes not.

Of course it is better than many of the alternatives... and I was being a bit brutal.

But it is unfathomable that Trump gets away with what he does. NO ONE ELSE would have the velvet glove treatment he has had. The Supreme Court should have just jumped on the case(s) as a priority. Your country -- and democracy itself -- depend on it. You know that EVERY case involving Trump will eventually get there. It should ALL have been resolved well before November.
