Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Forgetting about her viewpoints, there is little to choose between MTG and this unknown stranger as to who is easier on the eyes. IMHO, MTG edges her out by a small margin. (7.5 vs 7 out of ten) due to her being a bit younger and slimmer. What is fair to say that it is easy to point out either physical flaws or offensive personal habits in a person that one dislikes than it is in a friend or loved one. I am just as guilty of this as anyone else. For example, I had a co-worker in my office whom I despised. She was kind of short and round, so I nicknamed her Pumba, after the warthog in Disney's Lion King. My mother in law, on the other hand, is morbidly obese. I love her dearly, however. No such nicknames for her.

Just got back with my wife from a 10 day cruise on the Norwegian Prima, with stopovers in various Caribbean Islands. Took my Canon SX 50 along as a backup to my Panasonic G95. While the latter did better in sharpness, focus, and detail, I was surprised by how good the Canon still was. This 12 year old dinosaur will stay in my menagerie until it passes away from accident or old age. I have turned down buyers offering me almost what I paid

I am planning to photograph the eclipse next week. I don't have any protective lens filters or eyewear. I do have a Panasonic G1 mirrorless camera that I am willing to sacrifice as long as I don't endanger my eyes. If I point the lens towards the sun and look only at the LCD screen, am I risking anything other than the camera?
