Hi All,

I have a Epson R1900 and have used it very successfully for years. Due to a number of reasons have not used the printer for at least a year...
I want to start using it again...what would be my best method of cranking this printer up to print images
again?

All advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Bert

ind her up. and see what it says on start up; you will probably need to clean the heads, at the very least. But unless you switch icon, you won't find out !

as well as cleaning the heads, invest in a separate waste tank...

I have two Epson printers. According to Epson for long term storage you leave the ink cartridges in the printer. When ready to print again just run the head cleaning utility. I had one in storage for over 2 years with the ink cartridges still in the printer. I just cleaned the heads and printed perfectly again. Good Luck!

Had one and didn't get it working right again. Just got rid of it.

If you had no problem when you turned it off, simply turn it on, clean the heads and print your photos.

Be nice if it were like that.

My printer heads dried out and I couldn't clean them out maybe if I ran a few gallons of ink though it

That’s why Epson says to keep your ink cartridges in the printer for storage. Removing the cartridges results in the printer heads drying out.

Change the oil, check the air in the tires, you might need jumper cables. Then just test it. It’s likely the heads will need a good cleaning and maybe some alignment. Should be good to go.

Oh yeah, make sure you change the muffler bearing. 😜

I don't recommend an Epson printer to anyone that doesn't print once every day once a week if you want to let it sit there longer than that before between printing don't get an Epson
