It's coming up on St. Patrick's (or "Paddy's) Day and time for "Wearin' the Green". Did a little research and found out there was much I didn't know. "The Wearing of the Green" is an Irish street ballad lamenting the repression of supporters of the Irish Rebellion of 1798. It is to an old Irish air, and many versions of the lyric exist. The revolutionary Society of United Irishmen adopted green as its color, and supporters wore green-colored garments, ribbons, or a shamrock. For this challenge post apparel or articles of green that can be WORN - clothing, jewelry. You can find the ballad "The Wearin' O' the Green" here.

p.5 That's quite a collection of jewelry. Maybe you could wear the Luck of the Irish door hangar as a necklace, Lavonne.. Just kidding. You are one of the few people I know who decorates for every holiday!

p.5 Bob, you are the winner for originality here on this thread so far. You have more green in your closet than I do! Love the textures (as well as the colors) of your shirts. Nice modelling too. Thank you, Daughter!! My favorite layout has to be the ties. Nicely presented. The tie from Ireland looks to be handsome. You certainly wore the green today. Oh "winner" ...yes, the prize? A year's free subscription to Ugly Hedgehog. Enjoy! And your house looks green too.
Saw Some Green was an old post

p.3 Thanks for the compliment, Larry. Do have a fun time with all the celebrations this coming weekend. Let me know if twistin RR's arm doesn't work :) Anywhere near Rufe in MO?
No, not near Rufe. Will be North of St. Joe closer to Nebraska and Iowa. Probably 3 or 4 hours drive.
We had lunch at Costco today before shopping. Caught this special wearing of the green.
Phone shot w/ slight enhancement.

I don’t know all the history of the Cockade. I had an Uncle that used the expression “Cocked Hat” and that spurred me to check it out. I found out that the colors were different for every country’s military, and that with Ireland it was green or blue. I had a fedora once with a green feather about 40 years ago, but at age 90 now it is gone.
As to posting, I don’t know what it would be. I have been off of UHH for two plus years while my wife had rehab and now we are in a Seniors Facility that is great, and I am trying to get back into photography for the fun of it! I admire your great talent, so when I saw you were hosting this I had to comment about my interest in seeing THE GREEN!

Good start, Pat. Always enjoy your challenges. St. Patty’s Day is coming soon, and It’s my Brother’s birthday as well, so I’m going up to Missouri to visit Dad and help celebrate Robert’s Birthday as well. May need some help with next Sunday’s “Free Sunday”. I’ll try twisting RR’s arm gently first.
I have a couple from quite a few years ago that fit well since this event will be happening soon also.
Good ones Larry..I'll probably be at the VA with Verlin again this coming weekend with no WIFI connection otherwise I'd be glad to lend a hand with FreeSunday if needbe..Pg. 3
