I purchase CS5 in 2010 for around $600.00, have moved several times from one location to another since then, recently bought a new computer and realized that while I have the original CS5 disk, I no longer have the key to load to my new computer. I have no traceable purchasing information for Adobe to help me. Long story short, my original disk is useless. I searched Amazon and see that they offer CS5 for under $100.00. I am wary of the cost differential, wondering if the $100 CS5 is the same software as my original CS5. I have two questions I am hoping someone knows the answers to;
1). is my old CS5 the same as the CS5 offered on Amazon.

2). Is CS5 compatible with windows 10.

I appreciate any constructive feedback. Thank you for your time.

Have you tried contacting Adobe by phone or by Chat? They should be able to look up your purchase records and provide the lost key or a new one. Seems worth a try.

If you still have your old computer, you can download and install Belarc Advisor. Run this program and it will ferret out all of your keys and serial numbers. You can print this and have a hard copy on hand for future reference.

As far as I have seen, CS5 is not available for sale on Amazon at any price. The only packages I have seen for CS5 are training packages, not the CS5 software. Do you have a link to the item you saw on Amazon?

Yes, I spoke with Adobe, and they have no record of my purchase by my previous emails, so they were unable to help me. The link to Amazon I saw CS5 is; https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=adobe+photoshop+cs5&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

Just as a help.

Everytime I get any program for anything that needs a key, I write it on the disk.

Grab a Sharpe and don't worry about how messy it looks. If you can make it out, that's all that matters.

That way the key is always going to follow the disk.

Paper seems to get lost over the years as does the original case for some reason.

As said messy doesn't matter. I usually end up getting a newer version and throwing the old away. Then, the only thing to worry about is if the older program still works on the latest computer system.

Go to the Adobe website, plans & products. Then you can navigate to your previous orders. There's a link there that shows your products and serial numbers. It's a tricky navigation, but it's in there.

I’m using CS5 installed on Windows 10 with no problem.
I had to go to my account on Adobe’s site and manually add the license keys to my older Photoshop versions (still had the disks & original cases). I figured I might need this info someday, in case the disk is lost or destroyed (fire, flood, theft, etc.).

You might be able to find the number on the Adobe site. If you registered with them, there will be a record of it somewhere. They seem to keep moving where the numbers are stored, though. At one time, I had them stored in two different locations. A Chat or a phone call should get you your numbers.

When I bought Adobe programs in the past, I always bought directly from Adobe so they would be sure to have a record of the purchase.

Keeping a 3 ring binder with printouts of authorization codes saved me with Adobe and Microsoft when my old machine failed. You can’t rely on them to truly keep track as they are too large a company and all too frequently say that they have no record.

I don't see the actual CS5 PROGRAM, new, at all on the link you sent. Couple of used ones at best. All the rest are guides, training, etc.

Best answer if you still have the old computer and have not wiped it. I used Belarc to retrieve the keys for Office 2010 from my wife's computer. Great application and it is free for personal use.

I Have an unused cs5 serial number and of course the disk. I purchased them several years ago and have since migrated to the cloud suite.

Seems legit provided all the reviews of the seller are legit. Is only for Photoshop, not the entire suite. It's a gamble but may be OK. Hopefully the serial number will activate the whole cs5 suite which you have.It says it is on PC discs, I guess that is 3.5" floppies.

Probably not what you want to hear but if you bought the subscription service you would already have been using it for hours compared to the time you have put in resurrecting CS5. And it would be all new and shiny.
