Check out the "gallery" - they accept photos of trucks for publication.

Junk Yards. Esp older ones.Sometimes they let wander around. Maybe a little tip would help. Look around out in the country. Most country folk will let you wander around if you ask. I personally like older trucks. You can find all the new ones you want at the dealers and on the Interstate.Have fun!

I have had some good results at junk yards and auto salvage places, as well as driving out in the country and finding old trucks and other vehicles in yards, on farms and ranches, etc. But I must admit, living in northwestern Montana really lends itself to that type of discovery!

I recently went on a daytime photo excursion with a co-worker who also enjoys photography. He has eye for, and enjoys black and white photography, and likes to photograph trucks(passenger and semis. I was just trying to come up with an interesting place to go next time, where there would be lots of trucks(last time we went to the Pismo Beach, CA Monarch Butterfly Grove). When I Googled for a possible location idea, all it came up with is Budget, UHaul, rental places, and yes I know we could go to car lots, but was hoping to come up with a more interesting idea than that. Anybody have any location ideas?
Thank you,

I'm sure your area has a weekly publication of "things to do this weekend." Look for cruise-ins or car gatherings in area parking lots or restaurants.

At my local Quaker Steak and Lube every Wednesday is Bike night ...

A Google search might bring results too.

I would recommend going to the Louisville Truck show in Louisville Expo center, it the largest gathering of trucks in the east. You especially want to go to the "Polish & Pride" competition . You will see hundreds of working trucks and "show" trucks of all shapes and sizes. It is held in March each year.It is also known as the "Mid America Truck Show". Enjoy!

Largest Truck show in the Nation. Otherwise
go to your local truck dealers and ask them
if you can photograph some new trucks.

Consider how the Web works. Find the
info site for that Louisville show and it's
huuugely likely there will be links there
for other events and locations. You will
also encounter new keywords to google.

Well now you have been presented with several locations and options. I shoot cars and trucks for a living (collision damage appraiser), and sometimes I stumble upon a “keeper” for my collection. Here are a few, be kind please.

The truck photos are awesome! I love classic trucks myself! Thanks for the ideas too. I had not even thought about salvage yards until it was mentioned. Yes I have be given lots of options.
Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I know my coworker, Miguel will appreciate it too!

I've been known to spend a whole day in an auto boneyard. the light changes all the time and there's more stuff to shoot than you can shake a camera at.

Check out the truck stop 101 and Beteravia, West end of Beteravia, the driving school, and a lot of farm and semi's in Guadalupe. There used to be some interesting derilecks at Black Lake Wercking off of Beteravia.
