These are the Oquirrh Mountains, the Stansbury's are west of Grantsville. That said it is still a cool picture.

Hey Bruce, I appreciate you pointing out my mistake...don't know why I thought these were the Stansbury. Now that I take another look at the image, I can make out features that are on the Oquirrh Mtns. Come to think of it, it wasn't the Stansbury's I was trying to identify, I was thinking of the Newfoundland's...gonna have to get a map out and educate myself!!

Beautiful vista. I agree with the others, some more contrast will make those mountains pop.

Jim, Don't know what to make of it. The other day you went our looking for geese and came back with hawks and kestrels. Now you go out for eagles and come back with mountains. Well, OK, with such a view I guess that you can be forgiven. Seriously, an excellent shot. Really like the soft blue and white background tones as a contrast to the harsher dark foreground.

Thank You, camerapapi...I did go back and added more contrast and didn't like the results. Prefer this almost "pastel" serene look...that's just me.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments and compliment G.O. Yes, like Forrest Gump proclaimed "its like a box of chocolates..." When I go out with a camera, everything is a potential subject!!
