I’ve come across many “Nican” model specific guide books...not talking about the manuals that come with the cameras...but haven’t found any for Pentax. Anyone know where I can find one?

Just a guess, ebay. Have you done an internet search?
I guess they don't expect any dummies to buy the Pentax K50.

Doing that also. Just thought I’d reach out to the UHH community.

Cute, Bebu !!!!
Coming from YOU - I'd say - that's Praise, indeed!!!!!
It could also be said - the built-in Guide to the K-50 - is so effective, you don't NEED a book for Dummies!!!

I have not seen many books at all for Pentax Cameras since the film days.
There were many for Spotmatic, KM-KX-K2-K1000, MX-ME Super-MV. Like you really needed a book for a SLR. Most were more about technique and composition.
Today I have to struggle through the Owners Manuals or finding help on the WEB. And all digital cameras are nuts!

Certainly no Dummy would buy a K-1!

I think for that they have the "The Pentax Way" by Herbert Keppler. Also Carl Shipman did write a book about the Pentaxes.

“built-in Guide”? Are you referring to the user manual or the cd or am I missing something?

Dann … turn the dial to the Screen Mode. Then, you have 19 options. Go through each one, and there will be some three or four lines of text underneath, telling you what each mode is best for. That's as close as a Guide you can find, in the K-50. Though, it is pretty elaborate.
Also, I have several Nikons, which have Guide imprinted on the wheel. Perhaps, I thought the K-50 had it, as well. Tell you what - let's be specific. What kind of help do you need with your Pentax K-50? Tell me, and I will see if I can help you. I have just pulled mine out of the bag, and have it behind, me here. So, how can I help you?
I have a K-50 also. So far, have only found the owner's manual. It is better than some owner's manuals (for example the ones for the Lumix DMC-ZS60 which I also have.) At least it has an Index. I make a note of what I find out in a Word document so that I can remember.

You sure are right, there, Hassig. The Owner's Manual for the Pentax K-50 IS a book!!! … Unlike many others - which only provide pamphlets, or leaflets, even. So FEW cameras, today - come with full books. They expect you to download the full manual from the Net. Last camera I bought with a full book-type manual - was the Sony alpha a77. Was so disappointed to see, when I bought the a77 II - all I got was a little pamphlet - which really did not provide all the info necessary for this sophisticated camera!!!
Chris T:
Thanks for the offer but I wasn’t looking for anything specific...but I may reach out later😊
I’m pretty good with hands on learning but sometimes I like to have a book to refer to at the same time the camera’s in my hands. I just find it easier than working with just the camera.
