Dover is in Kent; these are the white cliffs of East Sussex. π
Both sets of white cliffs are crumbling, but this is a perfectly normal geophysical event. White cliffs are made out of ancient chalk deposits (godzillions of shellfish died over the millennia, leaving behind their calcium). Chalk isnβt the most stable of rock, especially when it has been folded by plate tectonics into cliffs up to 700 feet above sea level. When you add in the sea erosion effects... never a good idea to stand too close to the edge while taking photographs...
