My camera will not format the memory card? Why me? Why now?

Does your card have a lock on possibly, which would not allow it to be firmatted.

Card was unlocked. Low battery power was the problem.

Where did you get this information? I've been formatting my cards on the computer for over a decade now. Not every time, but most of the time. Never has been a problem. Not even once.
