So, does anyone know how you pay someone through Paypal? We have PayPal on Ebay, but have never used it for general payment. I want to list a Tamron lens, but am not sure if someone wants to buy it, how to direct them to our PayPal account.

Thank you!

You or they go to the PayPal account and send or request money and use the email that the PayPal account uses. I just recently learned this the same way.

I use Paypal to pay many accounts, and purchases. Paypal has my credit card number..it is very easy and safe to use. From what I understand the person buying your article would have to use their Paypal account, not yours.

It does not cost anything to signup for a paypal account. They walk you through step by step. It works primarily on your email address you provide. There are checks to make sure it is yours. You can tie your account to a credit card or your bank account. You can also let a cash balance sit in your account and/or transfer it to your bank account. If you purchase something they give you the option of taking from your cash account (provided there is a balance to cover the purchase) or put it on your listed credit card. They also offer a PayPal credit card. If somebody is purchasing from you they use your email address that you have set up with PayPal. Sometimes they will ask for your name and address from the purchaser.
I recently purchsed a lens from a fellow UHH. He had the payment within 15 Min and shipped the lens out that day. I had it by USPS priority mail in 3 days.
Sorry, did not read your post carefully. Use the email address tied to your existing account. Go into your account and look at what services you have set up. For the individual it is a versatile system for buying or selling.

Remeber that PayPal will keep a small percentage of the money you receive. They only charge the seller, not the buyer.

And boy are they getting greedy in how much the charge the seller. I am an author and after selling my book on eBay I don't make anything.

You can use Venmo to send money. Use it all the time to send/receive money to/from my kids.

PayPal is very convenient. Anyone with an email address can use PayPal. You can easily send someone money using it. For friends and family, there is no fee. Unfortunately, a lot of people cheat with that, so I wonder if PP will eliminate it.

Thank you everyone! Sounds like I just have to give the person who buys the lens my e-mail and they use their PayPal and just like that, money in my account! Seriously, thank you!

PayPal has an "invoice" function in that you can request a payment from the buyer -- you just need their email address. You will probably already have that if they agreed to buy by email.

A long time ago, I made a purchase on eBay and paid via PayPal. The product proved to be grossly mis-represented and unusable. In response to my report and request for rectification to both eBay and PayPal fell on deaf eyes and ignored. They in practical terms supported the seller's fraud. So I vowed to never, ever go anywhere near eBay and PayPal. Rip off the buyer, blame the seller; but rip off the buyer a second time, blame the buyer.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. We have never had a problem with Ebay fixing a problem and refunding money when an item did not show up or was wrong. Have not had a problem with PayPal to know what would happen with them.
