Curious, this guy says he was a ranger in Vietnam. By all of the news accounts I've seen, he is currently 64. Lets be generous and place his 64th birthday back in Jan 2018. This would mean he was eligible for the draft in Jan. 1972, so again, let's be generous and say he immediately enlisted started Basic Training in Feb. 1972, figure 4-5 months for basic and AIT, that puts us at around July 1972. Now lets be generous once more and say he was immediately assigned and sent to Vietnam, that would put him in theater Aug. 1972, and that's the earliest he could be there WITHOUT going on to ranger school. Well that's a problem, the US was already well underway withdrawing combat troops from Vietnam then, in fact, the last combat troops left that theater with the flag Aug. 1972. Hmmmmm, this guy's story isn't adding up at all.

His birthday is February 22nd. Also, he claims to have done two tours as a "Recon Ranger" with the USMC. There is no such thing.
Also, his name is not showing up on lists of people who served in Vietnam.
Now, color me skeptical, but I'm not dismissing the notion that he may be less than truthful about his service.
Also, he has a history of confronting kids to create such situations. He did the same in 2015 and more recently in 2017.

Back to topic, catholic kids and the Activist. Ask yourself what you would do if a stranger approached you and started banging their drum in your face. Your spouses face? Your kids face? It's an aggressive move no matter how you slice it. Seems to me the kids and especially the one with a drum going off in his ear showed commendable restraint.

Which makes it even more confusing considering the last Marines left Vietnam in the summer of 71.
