I actually got a couple test shots in between cloud banks (I'm near KSC on Florida east coast), and Sunday night might be excellent, wish I had the right equipment, maybe in the future, I'll try anyway!

The times are CST. The total lunar eclipse will begin around 8:36 pm on Sunday, January 20th, and will be at its maximum point around 11:12 pm. I await some fantastic pictures.

Should be clear yet in the 30s tonight in Dickinson, Texas. Hope to get out and shoot some good shots.

Same here in Pa. Not promising I dont think. Winter storm that I believe the gentleman from NYC is going to see more of. We got an inch of ice as opposed to 16 to 20 inches of snow. But I will definetly check on it.

Forecast for Northern Ontario, Canada for Sunday nite/Monday morn = Partly Cloudy, - 30 Celsius (yes that's minus) - that's minus 22 Fahrenheit fer you southerners.
Guess who WON'T be out taking pics of the Blood Moon eclipse. 😢😢⛄️

Come on Little Red, what kind of a Canadian are you -30 for Northern Ontario is downright balmy this time of year. heh heh, which is why I moved to Southern Ontario!! We are clear and cold right now, but supposed to be scattered clouds for the eclipse and only -28 here. I will be out shooting as long as it doesn't become completely overcast.

On with the long johns, snow pants, down parka and toque (haha, maybe a balaclava tonight) and of course the mitts that you can flip over the end to get your fingers out for the shot.

Or maybe, just set the camera up on the tripod at the start of the eclipse on the back deck, turn on the wifi and operate the shutter from inside the kitchen!!!!!

And don't forget the plastic bag to but the camera in before bringing it inside to reduce the condensation on the camera and lens.

Very clear here in NW Al, uploading several pictures. I had help from my 3 Border collies. They kept insisting on playing and fighting under my tripod and crawling in my lap. Maybe I got one or two keepers.

Well, I did not do so well. By the time the moon started changing color, (in Dickinson, TX the moon was covered in some type of haze or clouds or something) I was not ready so, none of my shots came out. I tried using some of your suggestions and then tried to modify them for my situations. None of them were acceptable. Lightroom could only get the histogram correct, but the noise was so bad, the moon disappeared. I have a lot more work to do. Another problem for me with the mobility issues I have, is that the moon was almost directly overhead. I did not get home until somewhat later and some things to do before I could go out.

Better luck in 2021.

I sat in a chair and raised the tripod up high enough that I could sit under the camera.
I have slipped discs in my neck, so have problems looking up at that angle.
