William Wallace. Photographer. Believe it does. But why be negative rather than respond to an inquiry?
William Wallace. Photographer. Yes, I believe it does.

URL/Domain names are usually synonymous. The only way to get "photography" in a URL would be as a sub-domain (Photography.DomainName.TLD) or as a sub-directory in the domain (DomainName.TLD/Photography). Either way adds more typing.
The OP is asking about the newer domain .photo. It is a real domain now. (Not a sub domain). There are dozens of new domains now available. A domain is a category such as: .photo, .com, .net, .co, .name, etc., whereas a url is the specific domain address within a domain. (Also referred to as a domain name). They aren’t synonymous. It is like the difference between your city name and your specific street address. williamwallacephotography.com is a domain name (or url).

That's why I said
usually. (I did reply about the two.)
You said: williamwallacephotography.com is a domain name (or url).
Exactly.
I was going on the premise that "photography" was not part of the original domain name.
(I DO know that domains and URLs can be different, and the differences.)
Stick with ".com" if you can. The content of the name isn't everything - just look at the traffic on this site, yet the domain doesn't give the slightest clue what it's about. However, when you tell people your website name, they will put ".com" on the back of it regardless of what you tell them.
The domain name itself will have far less impact on the Google search results than the CONTENT on the site.
The two most important factors in ranking a site for a specific keyword, such as "william wallace photographer" are:
1. The content on the site
2. The other sites that link TO your site
In terms of marketing and promotion of your website, I think .com is far more memorable.
No one will remember that the domain is actually wmwallace.photos
They will remember wmwallacephotos.com
I would not even waste my time on buying anything except .com domains, and find the .other domain extensions to be unprofessional.

Thanks Hammond, we're on the same page/brain wave.
I'm about ready to go with "WmWallacePhotos.com".
Now, if I could just decide on a simple website, display my photography love of 50 years, and hope someone wants to buy my "art, use my "brands", or enjoy what I see in my viewfinder.
Thanks for your response,
