Both are very nice shots. I like the first one for the angle and the second for the name that is visible.

Those solids were carbon being removed from the atmosphere. Modern trains don't do that, so we have a "global warming" problem.

(If you buy this, I have a vintage Leica, used by George Eastman himself for sale at a really good price.)

I lived in Colorado for over 30 years. I've been to Silverton; I've been to Durango BUT I have never taken that train ride - Now I live in Florida. Big change.

Great photos and the steam on cold clear days is down right beautiful !! Wish they still ran mainline steam.

Just to share a personal anecdote regarding steam trains.

I was in a hospital in Strasbourg, Alsace, France, to have my tonsil taken out at the tender age of four (c. 1950). My bed was next to the window in the ward. I stood up and was able to watch a steam train pulling many wagons across the horizon from one side to the other. I have been hooked since.
