Good for you! Always nice when we try something new and are so pleased with the results. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots...

Cheers!

I have now had my EOS-R for 2 weeks. So far the photos are great. The low light capacity is wonderful. The focusing is quick and spot on. I got both of the lenses for the camera and both are fantastic. I must say, there is a lot of new features that I need to learn. I just got a new card reader(my old one died) so I will post some pics soon.

Maybe you should re-read its specs! NOT weather sealed! No Canon with a flippy screen is weather sealed! Cannot be done.

What? Olympus OMD cameras have flippy screens and are weather sealed.

I’m pretty sure that canon is capable of making one as well.

Can be done!

Their weather sealed cameras have TILT screens. Take a look. Even Canons M5 and M6 (which ARE weather sealed) have TILT screens.

I'm not a Canon user but I am both curious and ignnorant, what is the differance between tilt and flippy?

So are you saying that it can not be done by canon or in general?

Both the omd EM5 Mark2 and EM1 Mark2 have FLIPPY screens and are weather sealed. I can wash down both my cameras in the sink with running water without any issues.

Try READING the thread, not what YOU want to read into it. Its a simple subject for the rest of us.

You made the claim that a flippy screen can not be weather sealed.

I proved you wrong and you are trying to blame me?

I was trying not to embarrass you too much.

I can any time, take either camera I own and wash it off in the sink. One with a flippy screen one with a tilt screen.

So what claims are you trying to make?

Because 100% that canon can do it as well

Because it most definitely CAN be done.

Either way you are 100% wrong.

As a camera store owner, you made a 100% incorrect claim and when corrected, this is how you behave?

It sure tells a lot about your character.

I too have the EOS R. I do a lot of bird photography and was very happy to discover I could use my 2X TC on my 100-400 II. It would auto focus and I'm not limited to 1 single focus point. One more plus is that the camera can be changed to crop mode. The crop mode is 1 .6 and with the 2X TC I figure I'm experiencing 1200mm with my 100-400 lens. The other thing I appreciate is "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG). While looking through the EVF or in Live View you can make almost any kind of adjustment to get the exposer you like before pusing the shutter.

The EOS-R has a weather sealing issue. Not a terrible one, but one that must be considered. While many parts are sealed, like knobs and closures some body fittings are not. They are just part against part. I think the camera will perform well in most conditions, but in moderate to heavy rain I would be using shield on any camera body regardless of what the manufacturer told me about sealing.
