Buried in my archives I came across these two views of the George Washington Bridge.
For those interested in the details the camera was an Argus C3 and the film was PlusX Pan.
The bridge toll imposed by the Port Authority at that time was fifty cents in each direction.
Today without any discounts for EZ Pass or cars carrying three people or more the toll
is fifteen dollars for a round trip. In fairness to those who are in charge of maintaining the bridge they
are now in the process of replacing some of the bridges main cables at a cost of around
a billion dollars. Opened in October of 1931 the span is going on eighty eight years old.
You will notice that cars did have some style and size back then.
Unlike today when the vehicles all look like inverted bath tubs. Yes; I did notice the VW.
Great to see these! Crossed that bridge many times.
Love these old historic pictures ... thanks.

Great shot, Pixelmaster, thanks for sharing. Went to Fort Lee High in 1960, it was one block north of the bridge, Thanks for the memories.
