Wasn't that color checker part of the Spyder package?

No, they don't. I if you buy the set they come with x-Rite i1 systems. The color checker can be purchased separately.

The ColorChecker Passport is made by Xrite; the Spyder is made by some other company. But Spyder probably has something similar. I already have 2 color checkers so I don't need another one or I'd buy this. They run $100 new so $75 isn't bad.

I did a brain reset and remembered that I got my Color Checker Passport as part of a (very good) package deal with a Sekonic light meter as I know I never bought this smaller version. That settled, I can say that this is a very valuable device for color balance work and for a color balanced workflow. You should, in theory, be able to take a photo of the chart, set the proper color balance in something like Lightroom, and be able to compare the image on screen to the actual color balance. If your monitor has been calibrated, these two should match. Further, if you make a print from this image, using the correct icc profiles, your print should match the chart. This is what I call a 'color balanced workflow'. Some camera models even allow for internal color correction, or you can make a camera profile for your editing software. Sounds daunting, but it's fairly easy and well worth it. Bottom line, this is a useful item to have. Best of luck.
I’ll take them off your hands PM Me your info and we can work it out thanks.
