Now that Canon has stopped servicing this camera as of January 2nd 2019, where does one go for service?.
Just went to CPS got a service code but they can't help
Any help is greatly appreciated

December 2009

And you can still buy new copies at a few online stores.

That just seems strange that Canon won't repair a 10 year old camera.

9 years. It was pretty much replaced by the 1DX, then the 1 DX MK II came out, and the 1 DX MK III is coming soon so it joins a long list of obsolete Canons no longer supported. No real surprise.

Pretty much kills the idea of someone wanting this as a vintage working camera in the future.

Ouch! I was planning on sending mine in for a check/tune up. Will be sad to have to give it up if it fails. No issues yet. Love this camera.

There are plenty of places that will service and or repair your camera. Google is your friend. I had an old nikon D80 repaired by a company in Atlanta. They replaced the top lcd I also got them to quote shutter replacement on a canon 5D mk2 in case mine went bad. Surely there is someone near you that does this type work.
