Finally feel comfortable sending a "decent"photo. First from Isle of Skye,Scotland. Second from Glencoe,Scotland..first time used slow shutter speed for moving water. No pp but a bit of lightning on my mac computer.,jim

I had a tough time picking one "favorite" (posted my candidates in a separate thread), but I think this one is the winner. After a very disappointing visit to Yosemite National Park this past summer (smoke from the wild fires), as we were leaving for the next destination I saw this view of El Capitan near sunset. With some magic of PP I was able to resurrect a passable photo.

Correction - two decent photos

2018 was a strange year in that I took hardly any photos at all, and only a tiny percent of those were landscapes. However, I have an intimate landscape abstract from Feb I like. Tree reflections on a pond (flipped vertically), and the patterns - similar to my mountain stream - are caused by light and wind action. The bird silhouettes may be artistic license

Beautiful. I like the way the birds crept up on me - it took me a while to notice them.

To the degree that my half-baked idea came out of the oven, I imagined a sky/tree scene (that's why I vertically flipped the orientation). I doubt I have the skill to properly distort them to make them part of a reflection & shadow scene, but it's a great thought - one I'll add to my challenge list.Dec 27, 2018 15:11:21 #
