Hi JoAnne, Are those the Hawaiian Nene's. I've read about them but never seen one. Oops, I just saw where you described the female. Please pardon my stupidity.

Merry Christmas
Nice shot and good to know you can find some to take pictures of. I have heard they are endangered like many other native birds in the islands.

A couple of years ago the Senior Citizens Center Photo Club had "holiday food" as one of the themes for Nov and Dec.
I always show my pictures last. I got up presented my first 5 - birds and flowers. Then I gave a talk about a traditional goose like Dickens described in "A Christmas Carol" or a Norman Rockwell painting complete with descriptions of the look and smell of a roast goose.
Then I flipped this image (13x19 print) over as I said: Complete with Christmas's most dreaded words "Some Assembly Required"! I still get comments like "You don't have anymore like your Christmas Goose Dinner this month do you?

Mahalo Robert for the fine compliment, Yes, the Nene is an endangered species but they are making a slow comeback

What a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays by your Senior Citizens Center. Wish I could have been there when you gave your story about a traditional goose. BTW, very nice photo. Hoping you are having a wonderful holiday season.

Mahalo Jederick for your comment. The weapon of choice and its load are proving to work very well together.
