In 2013 it didn't stop everyone.....
We just parked the cars and went.
The Rangers we met were very cordial.
Civil Disobedience - Acadia NP Shutdown 2013
I appreciate the assistance and information ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY I have gotten from most of the "hogs". . .However, let's leave the politics and "no nothing-ness," etc out of this forum! There's enough ignorance elsewhere on the internet! I've already spent too much time "debating" this morning. . .I'm outta here. . .And, I recommend the rest of us do the same. . .And, let's get back to fiddling with our cameras; and, lenses; etc. . .<smile>
Wishing all of you a nice holiday! Sincerely!

Do take notice that yours was the first post to go political on this thread.
Happy holidays.
I'm not certain how "it" occurred. . .However, I was replying to a comment on a thread entitled "Government Shutdown in the Parks, etc"

I have kept my mouth shut (actually, my "flying fingers") several times in the past when I read potential "political" comments I might have commented on. . .I usually confine such topical comments to my own blog. . .

Enjoy! Normally the political stuff ends up in the Attic, but sometimes we forget! All in a day's work!
Now I'm really sorry I posted something with the word "government" in it. I meant it to be helpful to those who might be wanting to visit the parks during any shutdown that might occur. What happened to civil discourse?

Absolutely. What gets lost in the rhetoric is the “illegal” part. Many are not against immigration but are against doing it illegally. We can chose which laws we want to abide by but there are consequences.

It is a hot button topic that lends itself to many contentious opinions. It's a good thing that our legislators don't act the way we do!

You do understand that Democrats do want border security, and are willing to pay for it. They just don't think a physical Wall is the most cost-efficient, effective way to achieve that.
Not arguing here. A serious question: Can you provide a link to their proposed plan?

Not arguing either, but have you been following any recent reports or looked for a link?
