Before you bite that bullet, I would like to put in my two cents worth. I have previously extolled the virtues of the FZ1000 and will do so here again. The larger sensor allows better color rendition and resolution in dark places, such as museums, art galleries and the like, ostensibly due to less noise. I do not know if the FZ300 has an articulated screen, but that is something that I have come to really enjoy using--shooting above the heads of others in a crowd.

Thx. I appreciate your comments and am factoring them into my decision. Yes, I guess you could consider this as an xmas present to myself - although it's actually more coincidental to having a bit of cash available to spend.
