Nice captures !!! I see them nearby pastures in the area while out walking my dog.. I haven't seen their nests yet though. That said, I have had them feign an injury so as to divert me away from where they likely had a nest. Every time I had my camera with me, I saw none.

Killdeers are very common here especially in the marshy areas, but really, everywhere. In the wildlife areas, they make a shallow dent in the edge of a gravel road and lay their eggs. I wonder how many get flattened by tires! These Killdeers were seen by me a month ago, and the female seemed to be wanting to mate. Not sure why as it was already getting colder. Pictures taken from the car. as walking around is not permitted at these two refuge autotours.
