pentax k30
I really like my Pentax k30 but never here any conversations about it. Anyone out there have any comments or ideas for using it. It seems like it's all about Nikon Canon or Sony.
The first six words of the first sentence in your post say everything you need to know about your camera and your situation. Just go out and have fun.
Edit: oops just noticed, Welcome to the Hog.
Pentax makes a very good camera and fine optics. IMHO every bit as good as Nikon, Canon and Sony. Although I'm predominantly a Nikon user, I have a Pentax K1 and while it cost just a bit over half what I paid for my D810, it's image quality is just as good, again, my opinion. Pentax also has IBIS in traditional DSLR bodies, a huge advantage as there are a plethora of excellent legacy K mount lenses available at low cost. Enjoy your Pentax, safe in the knowledge that you are right up there with the big boy equivalents!

There are a fair few Pentax users on here, I have the K1, k5 and k200 if you have any Pentax specific questions there will be answers. Welcome to the forum.
You should also join and use the extensive information provided on all Pentax cameras. This is pentaxforums.com
I picked up a Pentax K50 this Summer and so far I’m well pleased. For me it was a matter of price, features and “feel”. So far, it works for me.
Am a m4/3 user but if Iwent full frame I’d go Pentax in a minute. IBIS, great optics, weather sealing, lower costs.
Kinda wish someone other than Ricoh owned the name now but I have owned K1000, PZ-1, IST-D, K-20, K-10, K-3, and several lenses. I am trying to save up for a K-1II, Maybe!
own a k30. love it great camera no issues so far. check out killinglyphoto.com all pictures there taken with my k30
The K30 is a good camera, I enjoyed my work with it, eventually replacing it with the K3. After 50 yrs of Pentax cameras and lenses, I've switched to m/43 for size and weight as my photography needs are now personal, no need for huge enlargements, etc. Pentax Forums is a great source of info for anything Pentax. Enjoy your camera!

Love my Pentax DSLR's. I shoot mostly my K-1 and K-3, but I have owned the ist, K-5, and K-10. Using older Pentax glass that is manual focus is a real money saver and the quality is top-notch. Always remember the most of the quality in a photograph is in the eye of the photographer.
I recently started a similar thread here which resulted in 3 or 4 pages of replies and comments. It seems we Pentaxians sit back and watch the CaNikon users plus the Sony, Olympus, Fuji users talk up their cameras while we smile and understand the many positive and wonderful attributes our cameras have. The canera’s reputation is long and well deserved. Btw, I have two K-x’s plus a film K1000SE with a few lenses. Great gear.

While I don't have the K30, I do have the K20D, K5, and K1. If you ever want to chat Pentax, just give me a hollar.
All of my cameras get used often as I frequently do freelance work.
Much has been said in this thread about Pentax bodies, they have made some great glass also. One of there best nifty 50 lenses is a SMC Pentax A 1:1.7 50mm. I have a couple of these and they are really sharp. I also have a K30 that is back up to my K1. I have collected Pentax for about 25 years and have about 75 bodies and 50+ lenses. I really like the build quality of their old film bodies, the LX being my favorite. Welcome to the Hog and I will answer PM's about Pentax if you ask me.
I have Pentax K 50 and K10 , have used Pentax film for several years and love them! Price and weight, all kinds of lens, and the Quality are great. Love Pentax.
