I am also a Viet War Vet. 2 year USAF. what is somewhat alarming is to ask pretty much anyone under 45 who the combatants were in WW2 and few know.

Thank you for your service. I was a Korea vet myself. Served on a tin can plane guarding carriers. Glad I never had to step foot on Korea.

Hope all you fellow veterans had a wonderful and peaceful Veterans Day. To my Vietnam comrades: Welcome Home Brothers!!
South Vietnam, 1965 and back again in 1966. Crew chief on C-130E assault airlift aircraft # 877. Cam Ranh, Tuy Hoa, Buon Ma Thuot, Nha Trang, Da Nang, etc., etc. Too many assault landings and take off's to count. Aircraft earned every dent, ding, and hole...

I so enjoy your photographs of this war. They have historic value also.
My brother was in this war but I cannot find his photographs. He was also made ill by agent orange and came back a disturbed young man.
I find your advice to be wise.

Welcome, Lovesvintaglenses! Always keep the faith, help your brother as much as you can. Just talking the good life will help, and a nice restaurant from time to time will definitely be a good choice! There's much Love, Happiness, and smiles at the Dinner Table! AP

I spent my Veterans Day the way I have for the last 18 years. (Well one year I got sick the first day and went in the hospital.)
Working as a volunteer at a railway museum on a two weekend Day Out With Thomas festival. I used to operate streetcars and be conductor on the train but these days I am the announcer.

Hundreds of little kids on the museum and train at once with their family escorts. This year we had almost 17,000 in five days, our best year was 36,000 in six days. Seeing all those smiles and big eyes and hearing all the giggles and laughs reminds me why I and millions of others are veterans and helps make it worth it.
