I simply connect the IPhone to my PC. Tap on the phone and allow the PC to access it. Then the phone will appears as a drive to the PC. You can copy from the phone to the PC but if you copy from the PC to the Phone, the phone won't see the pictures.

The same thing works for a Mac--simple.

To bring my iPhone photos into my PC, I import the images into Lightroom through USB cable. This is the same way I import photos from my Nikon and Sony cameras.

Get iCloud for PC.
Sign in with your Apple ID and,
voila! Your iPhone photos are in the cloud for you to view, download, etc

On my iMac and MacBook Air, to quickly get photos from iPhone and iPad I use the "Google One App" (used to be called the "Backup and Sync from Google app") and the included Apple Photos program. The Google One app (which is in the process of changing its name to "Google One" from Backup and Sync) is great as it runs all the time, backs up everything, uses little bandwidth and stores the original photo size. I plug my phone into the computer using the lightning cable and it syncs almost immediately. It syncs across all of my devices - it has apps for IOS and Android devices. Easy to select and download multiple files from Google Photos cloud to desktop. Google Photos has some editing and cropping capabilities which come in handy for eBay photos. The price for Google is 2TB for $10/month - same as iCloud but not Apple dependent. I used to use Dropbox but found this Google App to be less expensive and much more flexible. You can also CHAT with Google if you have Google One questions - which I have done and it was great - not an extra expense!

I use an app called PHOTOSYNC, which will transfer your pics wirelessly, from your iphone to whatever folder you designate on your PC

That this even appears as a topic is further proof that "Apple is intuitive" is total crap. I have an android phone and transferring the photos is so simple how to do it just never appears as a topic. My wife has an iPhone. Moving her photos to her PC is a royal pain. You should not need and app or an intermediate cloud drive to move full sized copies to your PC. The free part of iCloud is pretty small if you want full size copies there, and after transfer deleting from iCloud is REALLY a pain. Don't know what the intuitive part is about any of it.

Gee, I move images and files easily between my iPhone, iPad & iMac easily either by using Lightroom mobile, or iCloud.

I also can connect with a usb cable and transfer images directly using Lightroom Classic CC from my iPhone or iPad, just like they were a connected card or camera. No need to use iTunes on my iMac.

Not sure what the issues are, but I have not seen any issues, nor did I read any instructions on it.

My PC instantly recognizes all usb connections....except the I phone. I can transfer a photo via email, but why the extra step? Why should I have to go through I tunes a music app, dropbox, icloud etc, "devise driver"{whatever that is}?

Thanks for all the input. Some of it strayed to Macs but I asked about PCs, Windows machines. I’ll try the USB connection method, see what happens. I watched a video that said you have to change the Windows driver for the iPhone so it wouldn’t try to use iTunes, so that Windows would use a more generic driver that would see the iPhone as just another USB devise. It seems that some responders have not had to do this, just plug in the iPhone and you’re good to go. Thanks again.

Perhaps I misread th OP’s problem. To transfer photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro is simple. Plug the phone into the computer and Photos automatically opens giving me the choice to import either all or select photos.

Windows 10 has "Photos" software included with it. It has an "Import" option. When selected, it asks "From a folder" or "From a USB device". With your iPhone or iPad connected, it will allow you to import your photos and store them anywhere. It couldn't be simpler.

A simple app on my PC works for all iphone, ipad, etc to and from PC and IOS device.

1. Google easeus mobimover iphone
2. Go to ease website and download EaseUS MobiMover 4.5
3. Install on your PC
4. Start the MobiMover App (EaseUS MobiMover icon) and it will prompt you to connect your IOS device. Connect with USB cable.
5. Follow the prompts to transfer photos, videos, music etc

More of a brag than an answer to your question but I have a iPhone, iPad and Mac computer. Whenever I take a photo with my iPhone or iPad in automatically appears on the other two devices. At 79 I need something really simple and boy this sure is. I can also transfer my D7500 photos to all three Apple devices but right now I forget how. lol
